Leftists Turn On Bernie Over ‘Mittens Scandal’

Let it never be said that leftists look after their own. The moment one of them shows weakness—or says or does even the slightest thing out of line—and the rest pounce on them like voracious zombies. The movement seems to care more about finding reasons to tear a person down—any person—than actually find solutions to bring the country together.

Just take a look at this recent development. The one unlikely bright spot in the dismal affair that was Biden’s Inauguration was a simple photo of Bernie Sanders sitting on a chair, huddled for warmth. The seemingly unimpressive shot sparked countless memes, tributes, and parodies. Whether you’re a Bernie bro or not, you probably have seen more than few takes on this picture.

But, we shouldn’t be laughing. Nope, not according to one leftist writer from San Francisco. Why? Because we’re disrespecting a devoted member of Congress? Of course not. Because, according to this lunatic, Bernie’s clothing was insulting to minorities.

I kid you not.

Even avowed Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is not immune from claims that he represents “white privilege” and perpetuates “white supremacy,” despite his progressive bona fides.

A writer for the San Francisco Chronicle noted, over the weekend, that Sanders’ decision to show up to President Joe Biden’s swearing-in ceremony in a standard parka coat, dress slacks, and a pair of oversized sweater-print mittens — an ensemble that launched a million memes — is emblematic of the Vermont Senator’s inability to connect with minorities…

“A wealthy, incredibly well-educated and -privileged white man, showing up for perhaps the most important ritual of the decade, in a puffy jacket and huge mittens,” she added…

“Sen. Sanders is no white supremacist insurrectionist,” she wrote. “But he manifests privilege, white privilege, male privilege and class privilege, in ways that my students could see and feel.” [Source: Daily Wire]

God help the future of this country if this woman’s students felt threatened by an old man sitting in a chair. I mean, seriously, is this all that the left has left to complain about? Bernie Sanders is a socialist who loved the Soviet Union. How did they expect him to dress? And since when is wearing a coat and mitten indicative of privilege and racism?

I guess every 3rd grader is racist now, huh?

What’s even more outrageous is that apparently a fashion trend he started with that picture helped sell out the coat—and raised nearly $2 million for the underprivileged in his home state.

But I guess that’s not good enough for militant Seyer-Ochi. She doesn’t care that Sanders is a socialist who spends most of his time talking about social justice. It doesn’t matter that his plans for America are exactly what the left wants. Nope, he’s a white guy in a big coat. That means he’s the enemy.

And leftists wonder why we’re so quick to mock them.
