Throughout the COVID pandemic, there was one thing you could count on: Democrats making huge mistakes. Sure, the federal government played a role in mishandling the crisis, sparking fear, hysteria, and uncertainty. But it was state and local Democrats who took the ball and really ran with it.
That is especially true of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. As President Trump was surge help, supplies, and even a hospital ship, it seems the governor was going out of his way to make the crisis worse.
Yet today, the media and general public regard Cuomo as some kind of hero. Even as New York is virtually rubble, with thousands of businesses closed for good and millions struggling.
Cuomo has tried to rewrite history to make his response appear perfect. But now, his top aide, is revealing the man not only increased deaths, but tried to cover it up.

In a recorded call with state Democrat lawmakers, DeRosa said Cuomo’s team feared a federal investigation in the context of former President Donald Trump’s highlighting of coronavirus-related deaths in New York’s nursing homes. This fear motivated Cuomo’s government to suppress the statistics against requests for such information from the state’s government and citizens’ organizations. [Source: Breitbart]
This is pretty sickening. Cuomo’s top aide, Melissa DeRosa, admitted they lied about the number of nursing home deaths in New York. But was she upset that this led to further pain and grief among New Yorkers? Was she upset that they violated their integrity and misled the public? Nope! She’s upset over the “political consequences” lying to the people, the government, and the world brought.
Notice how she tried to put the blame on the Trump administration, not themselves. As Trump worked to battle a horrible pandemic from overwhelming the country, this idiot and her team were worried about an investigation.
She almost makes it seem like they had to lie, because it would not have been right for Trump’s DOJ to investigate them. As if lying was justified, under the circumstances.
Now, conveniently, they are admitting their horrible crime, because they expect Biden’s DOJ to go easy on them.
And you know what? She’s probably right.
Democrats have a nasty little habit of defending their own, no matter what. Even if a fellow liberal is caught breaking the law, hurting Americans, or—in this case—lying to cover up their own wrongdoing, Democrats wouldn’t even give it a second look.
If only they had that kind of determination in putting Americans first?
If Biden’s administration has any integrity, they will still investigate this situation. Cuomo issued an order forcing sick patients into nursing homes. That lead to a massive spike in cases and deaths. His top aide suppressed the information deliberately to avoid an investigation.
But I won’t hold my breath waiting.
