Former President Trump told his followers not to give money to “RINOs” and instead make their donations directly to his PAC.
“Don’t give money to RINOS. They do nothing but harm our base and the party — they will never take us to Greatness,” Trump wrote in an email to supporters, instructing donors to send their donations to his own Save America PAC. “We will get it all back stronger and better than ever.”
His message comes after he mailed cease-and-desist letters to the National Republican Congressional Committee, the National Republican Senatorial Committee and the RNC, ordering them to stop using his name and image to raise funds.
And while speaking at CPAC last month, he dismissed the rumors that he would be starting a new political party, cementing his connection to the GOP.
“We are not doing a new party. You know, they said, ‘He’s going to start a brand new party.’ We have the GOP. It will become stronger than ever. I am not starting another party,” Trump said.
Trump has given endorsements for GOP candidates before the 2022 midterms and hinted at a potential 2024 run.
“Actually, as we already know, they just lost the White House,” he said. “But who knows? I may choose to defeat them a third time, OK?”
