Biden’s Bogus Spending Bill Faces New Opposition–This Time From a Democrat

Joe Biden talks about wanting to be the next FDR. That seems to mean he wants to push costly social programs, while lacking the leadership and fortitude of that iconic president. Biden’s “solution” to America’s troubles is just spending ungodly amounts of money—with no real way to pay for it.

His first spending package, passed earlier this year, cost the country over $1 trillion dollars. And it wrecked the economy. Biden contributed to rising inflation and paid people to stay home, producing a massive worker’s shortage. We all saw how rampant government spending does not help the country.

Yet Biden and the left want to spend even more money! In addition to a so-called bipartisan infrastructure bill (which could cost another trillion), Democrats are trying to push a radical spending bill costing $3.5 trillion.

They need every last Democrat in the Senate to pass it. Already, Joe Manchin has criticized the bill. Now, they just lost another must-have vote.

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) does not support the Democrats’ $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation plan…

“I have also made clear that while I will support beginning this process, I do not support a bill that costs $3.5 trillion — and in the coming months, I will work in good faith to develop this legislation with my colleagues and the administration to strengthen Arizona’s economy and help Arizona’s everyday families get ahead,” Sinema said in a written statement to The Arizona Republic. Sinema appears to be expressing the same concerns as West Virginia’s Joe Manchin. She stated that she is concerned over the costs of this $3.5 trillion package—which Biden and the Democrats have not explained how they’ll pay for.

Without the support of Sinema, there is little chance this plan will go through. Democrats were planning on ramming this bill through via reconciliation. This loophole allows the Senate to get a bill through with only 51 votes—so long as it relates to the budget. Democrats did this previously with Biden’s first massive spending bill.

But we heard this $3.5 trillion plan will have little to do with the budget. Democrats want to cram amnesty for illegal aliens into this bill, along with other bogus plans. Moderate Democrats in the Senate will have a hard time supporting this bill on nearly any grounds. And without one or two votes, there is no way this bill can go through.

Can Democrats lose Sinema and Manchin and still get it done? Only if they can court the votes of a few Republicans. And every Republican in the Senate has made it pretty clear they are not touching Biden’s radical expansion of the welfare state.

Gee, if only Democrats bothered to work with their colleagues on bipartisan solutions. Then, they could earn as many votes as they wanted on a bill.

What is that called again? Oh, yeah, democracy.
