Cuomo Has a Hilarious Excuse For His Bad Behavior

Cuomo Has a Hilarious Excuse For His Bad Behavior

After months of growing scandals, disgraced New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced his resignation this week. In less than 14 days, he will be out of office for good.

This comes as a huge relief to many Americans, including plenty of New Yorkers who were disgusted by the reports of his behavior. The state AG office revealed that at least 11 women were harassed, mistreated, and even groped by the powerful leader.

Yet even as he announced his resignation, Cuomo refused to confess to his wrongdoing. In fact, he still made excuses, even blaming his Italian heritage. Apparently, he thinks he could hide behind his ethnicity to brush off clearly inappropriate actions toward women (which included propositions for sex and intimidation).

Now, Italian Americans are sounding off against this buffoon.

“In my mind, I’ve never crossed the line with anyone, but I didn’t realize the extent to which the line has been redrawn,” he added. “There are generational and cultural shifts that I just didn’t fully appreciate, and I should have.”

Italian Americans quickly took to social media to express their anger with the governor — whose grandparents were Italian immigrants — appearing to write off his behavior as simply having a misunderstood “cultural” difference…

“As an American Italian, Andrew Cuomo doesn’t represent us…”

“We Italians refuse to acknowledge Cuomo as a member of la famiglia,” another wrote.

“As an Italian, I’m formally revoking Cuomo’s Italian card,” another Twitter user commented.

Another Twitter user said that “as a women[sic] with Italian ethnicity,” she was “appalled that he would compare appropriate displays of affection in Italian culture with his unwelcomed predatory sexual harassment. Disgusting!” [Source: Breitbart]

Numerous Italian Americans flooded social media to denounce Cuomo and his comments. It seems pretty clear none of them thought his behavior, which included threatening to end people’s careers, was consistent with their heritage, culture, and lifestyles.

It seems Cuomo thought he could do what many leftists do, hide behind the race card to get out of trouble.

While that might work for some people, Italians didn’t much care for it. One person said Cuomo he was “dragging our heritage through the mud.” Sounds about right.

Cuomo also seemed to suggest that his behavior was appropriate, but the lines of what are acceptable have been “redrawn.” As if it is society’s problem, not his. I don’t think groping women who work for you was ever an acceptable action. Nor should a man who is governor of a state get away with not knowing where the “lines” are in this day and age.

While it’s good to see Italian Americans standing up to Cuomo, we can’t help but wonder how this was allowed to happen. Cuomo thought he could get away with this, blaming his culture for his wrong behavior. It shows us that politicians on the left will make any excuse to save their careers, even throw their entire heritage under the bus.

All because Democrats seem to think this is acceptable.
