What do Democrats really want? With each passing year, their agenda gets more and more radical. And we can’t believe they think it will actually help Americans.
Once upon a time, it was unthinkable that any elected leader would to defund or abolish police departments. Yet over last year into this year, numerous Democrat mayors, governors, and congress members have demanded just that. In many cities, they’ve slashed police budgets, leading to massive spikes in crime.
Yet, when given the choice, these very same Democrats seek special protection they deny most Americans.
One of the loudest (and least informed) advocate for defunding cops is “socialist” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Along with the Green New Deal and abolishing ICE, defunding the police is one of the many issues she’s supported—but refused to make a reality. Now we are learning she gets to enjoy something she denies Americans.
New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who has expressed support for defunding the police, was ushered out of a news event with Capitol Police protection.
Ocasio-Cortez joined Democrats at a news conference on Tuesday to call for passage of a bill granting the Biden administration the authority to implement an eviction moratorium. Ocasio-Cortez, a climate action advocate, left with Capitol Police protection in a large Chevy Suburban SUV at the conclusion of the news conference.
Ocasio-Cortez has supported the “defund the police” demand of the Black Lives Matter activist group.
“Defunding police means defunding police,” Ocasio-Cortez said last year. “It does not mean budget tricks or funny math.” [Source: Just the News]
You really have to wonder how anyone puts up with this idiot congresswoman. AOC was attending an event demanding a bill to ban evictions. Afterward, she was escorted to a large SUV and driven away in safety, care of Capitol Police. The same woman who demands Americans lack police protection in their communities is getting special treatment.
According to the Capitol Police all congressional leaders enjoy special protection. But AOC is far from being a “congressional leader,” she is a junior congresswoman with little clout in the House. Yet she was able to score special protection, from a group she allegedly hates.
It’s ironic how often we see this very thing happen. A Democrat running for New York mayor who advocated defunding the NYPD was exposed for enjoying private security in her neighborhood. Other Democrats who push to slash police budgets live in gated communities and can afford security escorts, even bodyguards.
Yet they would deny basic law enforcement in communities that need it most.
What do you call that? Oh, right, hypocrisy.
We all know AOC is a pathetic, uninformed, corrupt person. She does not stand behind the very issues she supports. She wants to “tax the rich” while attending galas. She wants to defund the police, while enjoying a police escort.
The real question is, how can any American support such a phony?
