Fox News’s Peter Doocy pushed White House media secretary Jen Psaki on the national crime surge and skyrocketing murders during a media conference Monday.
“Does President Biden know that after a year in Washington people don’t feel safe?” Doocy asked, in reference to the increasing crime rate across the United States.
“Well, Peter, I believe if we look at these facts, we have seen a surge of crime over the past two years. Would you accept that?” Psaki replied.
“So what are you linking to the rise of crime?” Doocy asked.
“Well, I believe we should be responsible in how we are reporting to the public what the roles and reasons are for the increase in crime,” Psaki stated. “Gun violence is a one reason for the crime surge. Underfunding of some police depts. and their need for more resources, something the president has advocated for during the course of his career, that is something we understand we need to take action on.”
Doocy then pushed Psaki on the murder rate getting to a “25 year high,” and why Americans have not seen or heard more from Joe Biden on the topic. Doocy also said that Americans have heard from Joe Biden on the coronavirus pandemic but pointed out that the “murder rate is a risk to American citizens, right?”
Psaki replied by saying that those are “focused on” the actions Joe Biden has taken, including his strategy to focus on federal police resourcing on fighting crime and his “unprecedented” amounts of funding towards rescue strategies to pay for more officers in cities.
Doocy again stated that the murder rate was getting to a “25 year high,” asking if Joe Biden was considering anything different to fight the surge.
Psaki replied by asking if the White House should focus on something different than gun trafficking and gun violence and helping to support community policing. She also said that “most people who want to fight crime would accept that is the right approach.”
Of course, the Democrats widespread desire to Defund The Police is the main culprit behind the booming crime rates in America. And everyone knows it.
