Florida Governor Defies the CDC–Urges Employees to Drop the Masks

It seems like a while since we’ve had solid, COVID-related news. It’s taken 2 miserable years, but it seems even the liberal media is getting tired of beating this dead horse. More and more people are done with fearing the virus. And it seems even the Biden administration is trying to shift focus onto other issues (since the only thing that “shut down” the virus was Omicron).

The CDC appears to be behind the most accurate science. News publications have ridiculed the most stubborn “measure” to prevent the spread of COVID, the face mask mandate. Many have worried about the damage these masks are doing to children’s development. And workers are feeling more and more dehumanized, forced to hide their faces from the public. All as evidence comes out suggesting they never worked in the first place

Now, the Florida governor is taking a stand.

Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis shared in a video released on Tuesday that his state’s surgeon general has put out new guidance for Florida workers to provide freedom from mask requirements.

“Simply relying on outdated CDC guidance when the experience has completely undercut that is not really a reasonable thing to do at this point,” DeSantis said in a Tuesday video on Twitter.

“A 9 to 5 job should not be a N-95 job,” the governor added. [Source: Daily Wire]

The state is issuing new guidance pushing back on “unscientific corporate masking.” We all know companies initiated mask mandates to simply look like they were doing something. These companies knew they had to get back to work—but the world was still hyping up the virus. So, they embraced illogical mask rules, which only served to humiliate and frustrate workers.

DeSantis bashed the CDC’s “outdated guidance.” It appears this government agency is the only one left that still claims masks are necessary. Even when numerous outlets and studies have shown masks (much like lockdowns) did nothing to combat COVID. Ironically, the thing that did the most to curtail the pandemic was COVID itself. The Omicron variant appeared to spread quickly, providing herd immunity better than vaccines.

Once again, DeSantis is leading the way back to normalcy. He was the first governor to drop all COVID restrictions in his state. Even as the media slammed his decision, claiming it would lead to catastrophe, the state managed to have better numbers than many lockdown states. Now, he is urging companies to drop these useless mask rules, so that workers can feel normal again.

Hopefully, this move will motivate other states to aggressively end COVID mandates. We can’t count on Biden’s CDC to do the right thing. But the rest of the country has the power to move on.
