Joe Biden is trying it hide his failures on energy behind the Ukraine war. Gas and electricity prices have been increasing ever since he entered office. That is due to numerous green policies he enacted that put a stranglehold on our country’s energy production. He doesn’t want us to drill for more oil, but he had no problem going to Russia, OPEC, and China for more oil (and maybe even evil regime Venezuela).
Now, with his ban on Russian oil, gas prices are even higher. An obvious solution is to roll back his green policies so America can produce as much cheap energy as it can. Instead, Biden is pushing more alternative “clean” sources of energy—which at this point cannot meet demand (just ask Texas how well those wind turbines worked during last year’s blizzard). And now, Rand Paul is blasting Biden’s agenda.
Paul called the White House’s push for clean energy “completely nonsensical and tone-deaf.” He added Europe was “under the thumb” of Russian President Vladimir Putin because of its shift toward green energy.
“Well, completely nonsensical and tone-deaf,” Paul said of Granholm’s recent remarks in favor of cleaner energy.
“When the left talks about more clean energy, it is really code for less coal, less fossil fuels, less nuclear,” he continued. “And she should at least realize that this is what got … Europe in this predicament. Germany dramatically eliminated coal from their energy and dramatically eliminated nuclear almost overnight over the course of a couple of years. And they’re almost entirely dependent on Russian oil and natural gas now because of the green movement.” [Source: Breitbart]
Why did Sen. Paul call Biden’s push for “green” energy tone-deaf and nonsensical? Because he’s paying attention. Democrats’ push for “green” energy is really an attack on coal, oil, and natural gas. They push laws that limit how much of these sources we can provide for ourselves. They claim this is so America will be compelled to develop “better” green alternatives.
The problem? No green source of energy can meet the demands of our nation. So, we are forced to buy actual sources of energy from countries without the same, stupid limitations. Biden (and Obama before him) is enriching foreign powers like Saudi Arabia, China, and Russia by pushing green limits on American energy production.
Biden and the left know this. Solar panels and wind turbines aren’t going to power 300 million homes. They are doing this to placate their radical base (which is too stupid to see the problem) and to enrich their globalist allies around the world. The people who suffer are everyday Americans like you and me.
Don’t believe me? How much did you pass for gas, recently? How much was your last energy bill? The reason they are so high is because we aren’t producing enough energy and are forced to buy from countries gouging us. Imagine how bad it will get if we shut down what’s left of our fossil fuel industry? I doubt most Americans will be able to afford their bills, then.
