Former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton said that the Democratic Party finds itself in a somewhat anxious position going into the midterms, blaming a communication problem for Americans’ lack of awareness about the Biden administration’s positive effects.
“I do believe hand-wringing is a part of our Democratic DNA. Whether we’re in or out of power, this seems to be in vogue. We’re in power now, and yet there’s still hand-wringing going on,” she said on Meet the Press Sunday morning.
The GOP “has now gone to an extreme and is saying things that have no basis in reality,” according to Hillary Clinton. The disconnect can be reversed, she said.
“We’ve got a strong argument to make if we focus on it properly,” Clinton stated. “Democrats in office and out need to do a better job of presenting the case.”
Todd asked Clinton whether the chaotic military withdrawal in Afghanistan, which began under former President Joe Biden, contributed to his problems.
“I don’t think it helped,” Clinton stated, deflecting and complimenting Biden’s leadership in Ukraine.
Todd and Clinton did not address the recent fines by the FEC against the DNC and Hillary Clinton’s 2016 political campaign for lying about the financing of the scandalous and discredited Russian “dossier” utilized in a smear attempt against Trump weeks before his presidential win stunned the world.
Clinton, on the other hand, called for the Democratic Party to resist Republicans’ attempts to get off scott free, calling them “craziness” and “nuttiness.”
Democrats are now seeing the writing on the wall. Trump and the Republicans are set for an easy win in the midterms and eventually in the 2024 presidential race. Because of this, Democrats are panicking about their position and using lies and corruption to remove their enemies.
One way they are doing this is by labeling any Trump-supporting Republican as a White Supremacist and an insurrectionist. This type of rhetoric is well beyond any normal political attack given the huge punishments for being an insurrectionist in America. The left is clearly freaking out over what is coming. And that is fun to watch.
