After inadvertently claiming that First Lady Jill Biden is the former VP, the White House is attempting to clean up for President Joe Biden by editing the official transcript of the commissioning ceremony for the USS Delaware.
Joe Biden began his address on Saturday by joking, “My name is Joe Biden, and I am Jill’s husband. It is always a nice day when I get to come to Delaware and spend some time with military personnel and their wonderful families, or when I get to introduce Jill. That’s called a trifecta in my family.”
At that point, Biden turned away and said, “I’m really grateful for all those people who worked so hard to bring the USS Delaware from concept to reality,” at which time he returned his attention back to his wife.
“She was the daughter of a Navy communications technician in World War Two, the mom of a member of the National Guard, and the grandmother of two children who had their father deployed for a year at a time. She has always kept our troops and their families in her thoughts. And I’m very proud of all she’s accomplished as co-chair of Joining Forces, which she and Michelle Obama started when she was vice president.”
The president supposedly made no attempt to correct his comment at the time, although the official White House transcript did make a minor change to his remarks:
“And I’m proud of the work she’s doing as First Lady with Joining Forces, a project she initiated with Michelle Obama while I was serving as Vice President and she continues today.”
Saturday was not the first time that Biden has slipped — he has called his own VP Kamala Harris “President Harris” on multiple occasions. Additionally, instead of announcing that Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff had tested positive for COVID-19, as planned, he revealed that the first lady’s spouse had been diagnosed with it — only to be corrected by press inquiries.
Biden’s mental confusion has surprisingly gotten worse after winning the White House. And this is something that all Americans should be concerned about.
