Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), one of the most outspoken anti-MAGA voices in Congress, said he would “love” to compete against former President Donald Trump for the White House in 2024.
“I’d love it,” Kinzinger said in a recent interview with the left-wing Huffington Post. “Even if I was crushed in a primary, to be able to stand up and call out the filth is just a good thing, regardless of who it is. … I believe it would be entertaining.”
“I’ll make a decision when we get there, if there’s a need and a desire,” he added. “It’s really not anything I’m thinking about right now, but I’m not going to rule it out.”
Despite the fact that Trump is expected to run for president again, he has yet to make an announcement.
In October, after Illinois Democrats drew a new congressional map that made reelection an uphill climb for him, Kinzinger announced his retirement from Congress.
This isn’t the first time that Kinzinger spoke about a possible bid for the White House.
In a Nov. interview with CNN, Kinzinger stated he was thinking of a possible campaign for the U.S. Senate in the state of Illinois or maybe even the governor’s mansion, and added he was “definitely” not ruling out a drive for the White House.
Kinzinger was among the 10 House GOP members who voted to impeach Donald Trump for “insurrection or incitement” after the January 6th Capitol protest.
It is of course hilarious to think of what could happen if Kinzinger were to run against Donald Trump.
Conservatives are united and supportive of Trump as much as ever. All polling shows this.
So to have a RINO go against him would certainly make for entertaining television.
Why Kinzinger hates Trump so much is anyone’s guess. We can only imagine, like all RINOs, Kinzinger wants America’s borders to be wide open and to have hundreds of millions of third worlders come in and take up residence around the country. It’s a strange fact that might make you wonder what RINOs are really involved with.
