Victory for Free Speech: Biden’s ‘Disinformation’ Chief Resigns From Board

Americans were outraged when embattled DHS head announced the agency was forming a “Disinformation Governance Board.” The news came out during a congressional hearing when a Democrat pressed the Biden flunky over what he was doing to prevent minorities from learning the truth.

It seems that nobody was excited to hear that an agency designed to fight terrorism was going to crack down on “disinformation.” Most believed this was an attempt to chill free speech online, especially in the wake of Elon Musk buying Twitter. To make matters worse, a woman who spread disinformation in the past was appointed as the board’s head.

But it seems truth prevailed and places for this board are faltering.

On Wednesday, The Washington Post reported that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was pausing its Disinformation Governance Board that supposedly intended to monitor issues online relating to “national security.” Shortly after, President Joe Biden’s pick to lead the body, dubbed the “Ministry of Truth” by critics, announced her resignation.

Wall Street Journal reporter Dustin Volz confirmed Wednesday morning a story first reported by The Washington Post which claimed that DHS had put the kibosh on the newly created board on Monday “amid internal confusion and uncertainty about its future.” Volz added that Nina Jankowicz, an author and “expert” on disinformation, was resigning as the board’s executive director…

“It is deeply disappointing that mischaracterizations of the Board became a distraction from the Department’s vital work, and indeed, along with recent events globally and nationally, embodies why it is necessary. I maintain my commitment to building awareness of disinformation’s threats and trust the Department will do the same.” [Source: Daily Wire]

Bull, Nina. You were called out for supporting horrific plans to violate Americans’ First Amendment rights. Very few details came out explaining how this “board” was going to confront disinformation. That left Americans fearing the federal government was going to implement measures to silence their free speech rights.

The board was compared to 1984’s “Ministry of Truth,” a government body that spread propaganda and quelled free thought.

Neither Jankowicz nor the DHS did anything to assure Americans this board was not an attempt by failing Joe Biden to silence dissent. Most Americans seemed to think this board was going to pressure social networks—already blasted for silencing Americans—to further prevent non-leftists from criticizing the left.

But the shuttering of this board is a good thing. It’s hard to think the news of this board wasn’t being spread to intimidate and silence Americans. This “pause” proves that Americans will not tolerate attempts to discourage their God-given rights.

This episode, however, will not be forgotten. Americans will not let go of the fact that Biden tried to create a board that could have silenced their freedoms. At a time when Biden’s popularity couldn’t get much worse, he went ahead and did this.

It’s as if he wants to lose.
