In the Nevada Republican gubernatorial primary, Democrat super PACs are posing as GOP members and spending millions of dollars to prevent Trump’s choice, Joe Lombardo, from becoming the Republican nominee.
According to a recent poll, Clark County Sheriff Lombardo, whom Donald Trump recently supported, is leading the Nevada Republican gubernatorial race by 20 points less than a month away from the June 14 primary election. Trump said:
“As Governor, Joe will Defend our Under Attack 2nd Amendment, Fight Sanctuary Cities, Support Our Police, Veto Tax Increases, Guard Our Elections, Protect Life. Joe Lombardo is the man Nevada needs now more than ever before. I Give him my Total Endorsement as Governor!”
However, Democrats are doing everything they can to prevent Lombardo from becoming the Republican nominee, in order to bolster weaker rivals they believe would be simpler to defeat in November.
For example, the Democratic Party’s A Stronger Nevada is one of numerous newly-registered super PACs that it has established to interfere in the GOP primary. Ahead of the June election, that organization plans to spend $2.1 million on Lombardo attack ads. The organization is reportedly linked to the Democrat Governors Association and has Democratic operatives Andrew Whal and Jillian Edelman as its officers.
In recent days, a number of other Democratic super PACs have launched large advertising campaigns against Lombardo under the guise of Republicans.
The husband of progressive anti-2nd Amendment Nevada Assemblymember Sandra Jauregui runs another recently registered fake-Republican PAC named Patriot Freedom Fund. Patriot Freedom Fund sends mailing to Nevada Republicans claiming that Lombardo is a weak-on-gun rights candidate. The mailers from the political action committee urge Nevada GOP to vote for anyone but Lombardo.
Truman Fleming, the only identified officer of Patriot Freedom Fund, is Assemblywoman Jauregui’s husband.
The lengths to which the Left is going, according to Taylor Budowich, Trump’s spokesperson, is “no surprise” because they understand they have no chance of beating a Trump candidate this coming November.
