Ever since the “woke” left embraced transgender athletes, sensible Americans have been pushing back. Numerous states have been working on bills that would ban transgender “women” from competing with biological females in school sports.
In Indiana, they passed a bill that would do just that. But, to the shock of everyone, their Republican Gov. Eric Holcomb vetoed the bill. His weak response was that it did not “protect” athletes who were trying to rob women of their place in events.
But, thanks to the GOP majority, the state was able to override this governor.
Republican lawmakers in the Indiana Legislature banned biological males from playing on girls’ sports teams, overriding a veto by Republican Gov. Eric Holcomb.
The vote makes Indiana the most recent state to pass legislation banning biological males who identify as women from participating in sports that do not align with their gender assigned at birth…
The bill “implies that the goals of consistency and fairness in competitive female sports are not currently being met,” the governor said at the time. “After thorough review, I find no evidence to support either claim even if I support the overall goal.” [Source: Just the News]
Odd that a Republican governor would so quickly veto a bill, without proper explanation. Holcomb claimed the bill would be “challenged in court.” So what? Laws are often challenged in court by radical activists. That doesn’t mean the state shouldn’t work to protect women in sports.
We’ve all seen, recently, full-grown men dominate women in female competitions. Women who worked their entire lives to reach championships were robbed of victory because a man (who was 400th in the men’s category) suddenly decided he was a woman.
Many Americans are baffled by the fact the left wants to support this movement. We can clearly see how transgender athletes are edging out biological women from their own sports. It won’t take long before all “women” competing at the top level are actually men. You won’t need that many men to claim to be women, before this is true.
Unless legislation is passed to stop this nonsense, that will be our reality. How is that a win for “women’s rights,” eh Democrats?
For a Republican governor to oppose efforts to protect women’s sports is troubling. Is Holcomb secretly a Democrat? Is he bowing to what he thinks the establishment wants? Or is he angling for future posts in D.C., and fears opposing the transgender movement would hurt him?
Regardless of why he clearly lost. And Indiana lawmakers proved they are putting people over politics.
