Twitter on the Verge of Collapse as Musk Prepares to Walk Away

Let’s be clear. The news that innovator Elon Musk was about to buy Twitter injected the stagnant website with new energy and enthusiasm.

Twitter was on the verge of decay for years. The leftist controllers had boxed out conservatives and free thinkers. Meaning, anyone with anything interesting to say. The site had become an echo chamber of radical leftists, who wasted their time complaining about everyone else.

When Musk made an offer to buy the company, thousands of people returned. They hoped the website would once again become a fun place to interact and share their views.

But Twitter has refused to comply with a request from Musk. He demanded they prove only 5% of its user base was fake. It’s been weeks and they have not answered his request.

So, the billionaire is about to walk.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is threatening to end his $44 billion buyout offer of Twitter, accusing the social media company of not complying with his request for data on how many fake accounts exist on the site…

“At this point, Mr. Musk believes Twitter is transparently refusing to comply with its obligations under the merger agreement,” Ringler added…

“This is a clear material breach of Twitter’s obligations under the merger agreement and Mr. Musk reserves all rights resulting therefrom, including his right not to consummate the transaction and his right to terminate the merger agreement,” Ringler said. [Source: Breitbart]

Hope was high that Musk would make Twitter a free speech platform again, after he made the buyout offer. He had aggressive plans to grow the company in just a few short years.

But he hit the breaks after an independent report revealed that as much as 20% of the site’s user base was fake bots.

That would explain a lot, if true. Musk demanded answers from Twitter’s top brass. But apparently, they are refusing. If this goes on for much longer, Musk’s lawyer promises he will terminate the deal.

What will happen to Twitter, if Musk does walk? It’s safe to say the company’s collapse will only accelerate. Nothing is worse than hope deferred. And if a user base waiting for positive change learns that Twitter is going to remain a miserable leftist bully playground, they will leave for good.

And that’s not even taking into account shareholders, who will be eager to sue Twitter after this fallout. If they learn Twitter has been lying about its user numbers, the gloves are off. Big problems will hit the company if it is outed for lying to shareholders.

We can’t predict what will happen next. But unless the Twitter execs are honest, it won’t be good.
