My, what a difference a few months—and a federal trial—make. Sometime in early 2022, we started hearing about Hillary Clinton again. She popped up in interviews and events. She read her would-be acceptance speech. She even appeared at high-profile fundraisers. Many suspected (probably rightly) that she was gearing up for a challenge to the 2024 Democratic nomination.
Seeing as how, you know, Joe Biden isn’t shaping up to be a winning politician.
Then, suddenly, Special Counsel John Durham released a series of shocking court filings. One showed that Hillary Clinton and her allies spied on Trump, while in the White House, looking for dirt. The establishment did its best to brush these revelations aside, but Clinton dropped out of the limelight.
Then, it was learned by Clinton’s former campaign manager (while under oath), that she was the one who leaked false information about Trump and Russia to the press in 2016. And now, Clinton is making it very clear, she is not running again.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says she will not run for president in 2024, ending speculation for a possible rematch with Donald Trump eight years later…
”No, out of the question,” she said when asked about 2024. “First of all, I expect Biden to run. He certainly intends to run. It would be very disruptive to challenge that.”
She talked about the 2024 election in apocalyptic terms, saying that democracy was at stake and “whatever does not help you win should not be a priority.” [Source: Just the News]
Oh, sure. Clinton is not running again because she doesn’t want to “challenge” a candidate like Joe Biden. Yeah, because, look at the guy. He can’t even ride a bike without falling over!
Nobody is buying this line from Hillary. She smells blood in the water. She knows that Biden is not viable today, let alone two years from now. She could easily scheme to get him to announce he is not running (perhaps in a year or so), opening the way for her.
But why is she flatly refusing to run again? Because there is enough dirt on her now that officially dooms her chances. Americans know that the “Russian hoax,” something Democrats continue to push, was entirely made up and promoted by Hillary. Worse than that, her old campaign manager’s testimony struck too close to home.
If she pushed to run again, more dirt might come tumbling out, doing more than hurting her political chances. It might very well cost her, her liberty.
So, she is backing down, afraid of what Durham might dig up next.
