We are forced to call Liz Cheney a “Republican,” because technically, she is registered with the party. But it’s pretty clear from her views and support of Nancy Pelosi’s bogus “commission,” that Cheney is just a Democrat in GOP clothing.
The woman is so far gone, that she even believes the wild, false narratives pushed by the liberal media. She even once claimed she was in line for the GOP nomination in 2024. Despite massive blowback from her party back home, she continues to bow to the D.C. swamp in attacking Trump and his millions of supporters.
But it’s clear the chickens have come home to roost, as she is losing big time against her primary opponent.
Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) trails her GOP challenger by more than 20% in a poll released on Friday, signaling concern for the congresswoman in the upcoming primary.
A total of 52% of likely primary voters in the state said they supported Trump-endorsed Harriet Hageman, with only 30% showing support for Cheney, according to a Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy survey conducted on behalf of the Casper, Wyoming, Star Tribune…
The race between Cheney and Hageman has been receiving national attention for months, but the survey marked “the first independent, public, in-state poll” conducted so far. Early voting has already begun, with the primary set for August 16. [Source: Daily Wire]
In a word, Cheney is screwed. She betrayed the party in 2020, throwing her weight behind Joe Biden’s “victory.” She voted against Trump, blaming him (without evidence) that he was somehow behind the Capitol riot.
Even though voters back home strongly condemned her actions, along with many leading voices in the party, she doubled down on her sentiments. I guess she believed that the D.C. establishment would protect her, along with the MSM.
But that seems to be far from the truth. Trump continued to call out her betrayal of the party. And voters in Wyoming have increasingly despised her involvement in the Democrats’ grossly partisan and dishonest “commission.”
You’d think that an incumbent representative, who held that seat for years, would be safe in a primary. A rival might get close but still lag behind by a few points. But if this poll is to be believed, Cheney doesn’t have a ghost of a chance at getting re-elected. Her rival Hageman is winning with 52% of the vote. Cheney only has 30%.
That is pathetically low, for someone who should be winning her primary easily. But this is a testament to just how much Republican voters despise anyone who turns on the party—to win over the favor of the left.
This also tells us that Republicans are still in Trump’s corner. Despite all the slander, despite all the attacks, despite all the false allegations, millions of Americans trust the Trump.
And they can’t stand Liz Cheney.
