The president stated in the video that “you can’t be pro-insurrection and pro-cop, you can’t be anti-government, anti-law enforcement.” He goes on to say that former President Donald Trump didn’t have the courage to act when he was in office and that “the brave men and women in blue all across this country should never forget that.”
Americans are far more preoccupied with everyday kitchen table concerns like immigration and healthcare, which may serve to rekindle the drama of January 6 as the midterms approach just three months away.
Biden kept up the attack against Trump, who just delivered a speech in Washington, D.C., with more tweets. It included yet again reminding voters how desperately Biden wants to ban “assault weapons,” which even his own party has acknowledged is not feasible.
Later that day, the president posted another video on his official Twitter account. While the president does manage to blink throughout, it’s still odd in how he attempts to take credit for minor gas cost decreases, which are still far too high. Tellingly, though, the administration has refused to accept responsibility for rising gasoline costs under Joe Biden, instead blaming Russian President Vladimir Putin. Nonetheless, this gaslighting White House refuses to acknowledge it, of course.
The video statement left out important information, such as how Biden lowered the strategic petroleum reserve to a historic low, as Katie previously noted. There was some truth in the video message, however, reminding Americans that suffering is the goal and that Biden has been focusing on moving to a clean energy economy since before he entered office and has prioritized it.
