Whistleblower Accuses FBI Leaders Of Shocking Crimes

Despite weak evidence that the cases belong in such a category, officials at the FBI are apparently coercing agents to reclassify them as “domestic violent extremism.”

House Judiciary Committee ranking member, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), claims in a letter to FBI Head Christopher Wray that whistleblowers at the FBI say the agency is “padding” domestic terrorism data to make it seem more serious than it is. According to Jordan, the bureau is misclassifying assaults as due to Domestic Violent Extremists (DVEs) in order to support an administration “narrative” about DVEs’ danger.

“We have learned that some FBI officials are compelling agents to start reclassifying cases as ‘domestic violent extremism’ even if they don’t satisfy the criteria for this classification, according to recent safeguarded revelations. Given the Biden administration’s claim that domestic violent extremism is the greatest danger facing our nation, news that the FBI may be fraudulently adding data relating to domestic terrorism is extremely troubling,” Jordan stated.

“We’ve heard allegations that FBI personnel are inflating the number of DVE cases in order to satisfy their bosses. One whistleblower stated that because agents aren’t finding enough DVE instances, they’re urged and incentivized to reclassify any existing circumstances as DVE instances even though there is little, circumstantial evidence to support the change,” Jordan said.

According to Jordan, the FTC has established a system of incentives for agents who categorize cases as DVE.

“Another whistleblower — who has led at least one high-profile domestic terrorism case investigation — reported that a field office Counterterrorism Special Agent in Charge and the FBI’s Director of the Counterterrorism Division have urged agents to migrate cases into the DVE category in order to achieve self-imposed performance targets,” Jordan continued. “The FBI allegedly uses these measures to determine rewards and promotions. Every whistleblower has described it as an atmosphere of ‘pressure.’”

According to the Department of Homeland Security, the DVE threat is America’s most significant terrorist danger. The FBI head previously informed Congress that the 2020 election was contributing to the risk, and that DVE incidents may increase as a result of radicalization due to the election.

“Looking ahead, the FBI considers DVEs to be a higher risk of violence against the United States. In the wake of the break-in at the U.S. Capitol, some of these actors have only been emboldened. Racially or ethnically motivated anti-government or anti-authority violent extremists, and other DVEs are likely to pose the greatest domestic terrorist threats in 2021 and beyond,” Wray stated in June 2021 before Congress.

Jordan’s letter arrives just days after Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) charged that FBI agents and officials were engaged in a “concerted effort to mislead the public” by downplaying evidence of Hunter Biden’s misconduct.
