Federal Judge Blocks Biden’s Ban on Drilling–but Will Is Save American Energy?

At the very start of his administration, Joe Biden signed an order “pausing” drilling on federal land. He claimed an “extensive review” of the process would have to take place, before continuing. Sure. How’s that review coming, Joe? Oh, it’s not finished?

That “pause” triggered a massive spike in American energy production, leading to the gas price crisis. Because fuel costs skyrocketed, so did the costs of everything else. An already struggling economy (thanks to Joe) was now being hammered. Inflation continues to be out of control as a recession dooms numerous industries.

But a ray of hope could be coming through the clouds, as one federal judge shut down Biden’s ban… in a few states.

A Louisiana federal judge blocked the Biden administration’s authority to pause oil and gas leases in 13 states, one day after an appeals court tossed the judge’s injunction.

The Interior Department violated federal law by canceling leasing on federal lands following President Joe Biden’s 2021 executive order…

The 13 states are Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah and West Virginia. The ruling does not apply to other states…

Judge Doughty said that through the Mineral Leasing Act and the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act the government is required to sell leases and only Congress is able to stop oil and gas leasing, Reuters reported. [Source: Just the News]

The Mineral Leasing Act allows only Congress to stop oil and gas leasing on federal land. Which means, that Congress would have to pass a law to do so. Yet Biden issued an executive order to stop oil and gas leasing, violating this law.

The federal judge blocked Biden’s authority to do this in 13 states. But does that mean drilling will continue and gas prices will go down?

That’s hard to say. Biden is the one that stopped the drilling. But even with this judge intervening, it is a federal agency that issues these leases. A federal agency that is under control by Biden and his administration.

How much do you want to bet that the flunkies within the administration will continue to slow-walk the leasing process, despite what the courts say?

As long as a wolf is in the hen house, nothing is going to get fixed. The courts can, however, issue these kinds of rulings as stunning rebukes to the Biden administration. Ruling that Biden broke the law all so he could shut down our energy industry is damning news.

Biden was so obsessed with killing our energy independence and giving all our money to Saudi Arabia and China that he’d break the law to do it. His agenda to force Americans to buy expensive electric cars, all to pay back his cronies in the “green” market was illegal.

That might not mean much now, but it will give Republicans reason to challenge and investigate his administration… if they win in November.
