We know that, at the state level, Democrats are trying to flood our public schools with radical, left-wing teaching. Parents had to fight over the last few years to keep this harmful content out of their children’s classes. That triggered a shocking response from Biden’s DOJ, as the attorney general dared to brand parents as “domestic terrorists.”
It’s clear that Democrats want to brainwash our children into buying their twisted version of U.S. history. Despite big wins in states like Florida, Democrats are trying to use the federal government to force this kind of curriculum onto our students. And it seems the Department of Education screwed up big time trying to do this.
And Republicans are pouncing.
House Republicans are launching an investigation into the Department of Education for allegedly allowing COVID-19 relief funds to pay for “racially biased” and other far-left programs in public schools.
House Committee on Oversight and Reform ranking member James Comer, R-Ky., and Education and Labor Committee ranking member Virginia Foxx, R-N.C., led a series of letters signed by 30 GOP lawmakers and sent Wednesday afternoon to Education Department Secretary Miguel Cardona and others.
“Republicans are investigating the use of COVID-19 relief dollars appropriated for virus mitigation and the safe reopening of schools,” the lawmakers said in their letter. “Based on recent reports, the Department of Education is allowing Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and related COVID relief funds to pay for racially biased and other progressive leftist programs.” [Source: Fox News]
House Republicans are trying to get to the bottom of reports that Biden’s DOE used COVID funds to push far-left ideology in public schools. COVID funds, as you would imagine, were provided to help schools reopen after the pandemic.
Those funds were supposed to provide things like sanitizing stations, masks, dividers, etc. They were designated to help students and teachers feel good about returning to class. Yet Republicans say the Department of Education used this money to provide “woke” content for children.
Call me crazy, but that sounds illegal. That was taxpayer dollars provided to address a credible need. That money was not handed out so radical progressives could brainwash students.
But unless someone holds Biden’s feet to the fire, they will get away with it.
Parents have been fighting an intense battle to ensure their children are given quality education. But for years, Democrats have seen public schools as indoctrination stations. They care less about teaching our children and more about turning them into future Democrat voters.
They don’t care how that violates their goals as teachers. And the federal government doesn’t care that they are violating taxpayers’ trust. They will force far-left ideas onto our country, come hell or high water.
The only thing that can stop them, is if we get enough Republicans into office to hold them accountable.
