By now, you probably know about the mass exodus taking place in blue parts of America. Since before the COVID panic, Americans were fleeing high-tax, socialist-loving, Democrat-run cities and states. It only got worse during lockdowns, when these Democrat dictators shut down their communities.
Tens of thousands of Americans have left places like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and New York. The shift has been so dramatic that many blue states lost seats in the House (while states like Texas and Florida gained). But if you were to ask the left-wing governor of New York–it’s all a mystery.
She doesn’t understand why people are leaving her filthy, homeless-infested, crime-ridden, hellhole of a city. In fact, if you were to believe her, NYC is the safest city in the country!
During a portion of an interview aired on Tuesday’s edition of Bloomberg’s “Balance of Power,” New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) stated that while “the horrific crimes that we’re seeing” keep her up at night and are “frightening” people, “New York City is still the safest big city in America. Look at Chicago, look at San Francisco, look at Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Washington. People leaving New York, I’m not sure where they’re going to go because we are the safest big city in America.” [Source: Breitbart]
Wow, how pathetic. Her comments reveal just how out-of-touch and arrogant big-city Democrats really are.
Gov. Hochul of New York claims–with absolutely ZERO evidence–that New York City is the “safest big city in America.” A simple Google search would prove her wrong. Notice the cities she compared NYC to, other hellholes that are also run by left-wing socialist Democrats.
She left out big cities like Fort Worth, San Antonio, Jacksonville, and Phoenix. There are countless cities and communities that are infinitely safer than the rotten Big Apple. But Hochul overlooked these many places, because in her arrogant liberal mind–nobody in their right mind would live in those cities.
Where are they going, Kathy? I’ll tell you where they’re going. They’re going to Florida. Even Miami, a big city she left out, is significantly safer than New York. Even with the occasional hurricane, Florida is a far safer place to live than the woke cesspool that New York has become.
Perhaps, when Rudy Giuliani was mayor, you could say New York was safe. That’s because Rudy was a former federal prosecutor famous for taking down the literal Mafia. He cleaned up New York. But three mayors later, the city is back to being the scum of civilized society.
But no Democrat can admit their failures. New York could be a smoking crater and Hochul will still say it’s better than Chicago. These Democrats are clinically incapable of telling the truth and copping to their mistakes.
Because that will cost them votes. And winning elections and swallowing up more power is their only priority.
Making New York a safe, affordable, respected place to live? Nope!
