Just how dumb are Democrats? This dumb: they supported Robert Francis O’Rourke three times, for high-profile races. And three times, he lost. The man calls himself “Beto” a nickname a childhood nanny gave him. He uses this name to trick Hispanic voters into thinking he’s one of them. In reality, he’s whiter than most white people.
The fake Hispanic failed to beat real Hispanic Ted Cruz for U.S. Senate in 2018. After that embarrassing loss, O’Rourke decided to run for president in 2020. He bowed out to help Biden secure the nomination–but Biden never gave him a job! O’Rourke came back to try to beat Texas Gov. Abbott. Of course, the Second Amendment-hating Democrat lost.
But this is how much money Democrats have wasted on Francis.
It didn’t take long after polls closed for the famous loser and Irishman, Robert Francis (Beto) O’Rourke, to be declared the loser in the Texas governor’s race.
Democrats poured more than $75 million into the Lone Star State’s gubernatorial race. Nevertheless, as of this writing, with 44 percent of the vote counted, the race has already been called for Abbott. What’s more, Abbott is up by almost nine points, 53.7 to 45 percent.
On Monday, the Dallas Morning News reported, “Since July 1, 2021, Abbott has raised $83.6 million and O’Rourke $77.3 million.”
In 2018, O’Rourke spent $80 million to lose a U.S. Senate race in Texas to Republican Ted Cruz.
In 2020, O’Rourke squandered $13 million to lose the Democrat presidential primary.

At the time of this writing, O’Rourke lost to Abbot 54.85% to 43.79% with 98% of the ballots counted. That is a painful loss and more evidence that Texas is getting redder not bluer. O’Rourke thought he would win over Texas by promising to leave the border open, take our guns, and import California economics.
Big surprise he lost to Abbott. The bigger shock is that Democrats wasted $77 million on a race that was doomed to fail. O’Rourke has never been a strong candidate. He was a representative from El Paso, an overwhelmingly liberal district. But beyond his hometown, nobody in Texas seems to like him.
But his previous losses should have been enough for Democrats to stay away. Yet they not only nominated him, but wasted tens of millions of dollars for him to lose. Was this some kind of money-laundering scheme? Why would donors spend this much money to lose?
We don’t know for sure. But it seems Democrats would rather spend millions on a far-left, progressive candidate to “flip” Texas, rather than find a moderate who could bring the left and right together.
Pretty much sums up the party nationwide.
