Disney was once a household name for family-friendly content. But not these days. The massive, liberal-run company became enemy number one after it opposed a parental rights law in Florida. Top executives, including its CEO Bob Chapek, announced they were pushing a pro-LGBT agenda in its movies and shows. Even content aimed at children has prominent gay characters and themes.
That’s on top of the increasingly “woke” message Disney’s injecting into franchises like Marvel, Star Wars, and animated features. Americans are getting sick and tired of this Hollywood studio lecturing them on politics. It has resulted in Disney losing billions recently, as customers are ditching the House of the Mouse.
The company’s CEO recently announced there would be layoffs. And the first person to go? The CEO himself!

Disney stock has fallen over 40% over the last year amid an ailing economy. It’s woes have been blamed on a series of decisions that have alienated its family-minded and in many cases, conservative, customer base. The company clashed bitterly with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over a law that prohibits public schools from teaching kids below the fourth grade about sexual orientation and radical gender theory…
The company was also criticized for featuring a lesbian kiss in kids’ movie “Lightyear,” showing a transgender man purchasing tampons in a TV series, and emphatically embracing the trend of Environmental, Social, and Governance, a strategy that courts investors by promoting a host of woke values within the corporate structure. Gee, who would have thought all that would have hurt a family-friendly business? Under Chapek, Disney became increasingly aggressive in pushing a liberal, progressive, “woke” agenda. Everything from TV shows, games, comic books, and movies was polluted with messages to influence Americans.
Instead of appealing to customers with fun, child-appropriate content, Disney took it upon itself to brainwash its viewers. That didn’t go over well. Americans don’t like being lectured to, especially by rich, white liberals who think they’re better than us.
Americans have gotten wise to Hollywood’s attempts to push super-liberal messages in our movies and shows. And more and more Americans are dumping once beloved franchises because they stink of “wokeness.”
Nobody would have expected a juggernaut like Disney to lose billions. Especially after it successfully bought Marvel and Star Wars. But even these popular franchises have lost money recently because Disney has used them to promote far-left ideas.
The firing of Chapek could be a good sign. The company might repent of this obvious scheme and return to making politically neutral content families can enjoy. But we can’t be sure of that. Liberals treat their views like a religion. They are as devoted to wokeness as Islamists are to jihad. We might not see the end of it soon.
