Most liberals in big cities up North tend not to care about the border crisis. To them, it’s far, far away. Something Texas or Arizona has to worry about. At worst, some of those illegals end up in red districts in the Midwest, skewing election results.
But blue cities got hit with a cold dose of reality as Republican governors started bussing aliens to their doorsteps. New York City has been overwhelmed as Arizona and Texas have sent thousands of illegals. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott called on the city’s mayor, Eric Adams, to visit the border and see just what’s going on. Adams ignored him, demanding instead billions to house these freeloaders.
When Democrat leaders started to ship aliens to New York, however, Adams must have realized there was no end in sight. So, he finally did the unthinkable.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams visited the southern border and called for a “national solution” to the migrant crisis on Sunday during his trip to El Paso, Texas.
“This is a national crisis and we need a national solution,” Adams tweeted. He met with El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser, a fellow Democrat, after flying in on Saturday evening.
“Mayors like [Leeser] and I are on the front lines and we need federal support,” said Adams, who plans on continuing his tour of the area Sunday…
“We are at our breaking point,” Adams said. His city has received more than 40,000 illegal migrants since last spring, including over 3,100 in the past week, he said. [Source: Just the News]
Mayor Adams actually went down to the border and saw the crisis first hand. According to reports, he is even calling for a “national solution.” Now, that might not mean he’s on board with resuming the border wall and deporting these invaders. But at least this is a step in the right direction.
Adams is so partisan; he could only meet with the Democrat mayor of El Paso. Come on, Eric. Just swallow your pride and meet with Abbott. He knows better than anyone else what is going on. Abbott has been on the real front lines of this fight–and much longer than Adams. If the mayor is serious about ending this crisis, he will meet with Abbott, Ron DeSantis, and anyone else he can find.
It’s going to take an act of Congress to fix this situation. Both parties need a veto-proof majority to ensure the border is protected and these aliens are sent packing. Local leaders like Adams, Leeser, and others can get their party to wake up and support a bill funding the border wall (and other measures). Even if senile and corrupt Joe Biden tries to block them, with enough congressional support, it will happen.
