Donald Trump jumped into the 2024 race earlier than anyone else. He announced his campaign in November of 2022–long before other candidates were even considering their plans. Perhaps he thought this would give him enough momentum to secure his nomination?
But it was pretty clear Trump was worried about one person, Ron DeSantis. He is a rising star among conservatives. Even recently, Trump bashed the former ally, posting slanderous comments about DeSantis from followers on his social page. All this, despite the fact DeSantis has yet to announce a campaign.
So, we can assume Trump was shocked when this news came out.
Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley will formally announce her presidential campaign for the 2024 race, according to a new report. The announcement, set for February 15, will set up a showdown with her former boss from her time as UN ambassador, President Donald Trump…

Trump spent so much time attacking Ron DeSantis, that he didn’t even expect a former staffer to challenge him. Nikki Haley was Trump’s ambassador to the UN. She served during Trump’s first administration and impressed Americans with her strong views and no-nonsense approach to leadership.
Before that, she was governor of South Carolina. According to the Republican, she has never lost a race. She could very well be a tough candidate for Trump to beat.
The news of her race is all but confirmed. She is planning on announcing it officially in just a few days. Once she does, the polling could be shaken up big time. Republicans who think its time to move on from Trump will quickly rally around Haley.
She could strike a huge blow against Trump’s campaign. Trump, for his part, has yet to respond to the news. How will he react? He can’t attack her as viciously as he’s attacked other Republicans. If he does, it will not come off well.
Haley could quickly muster support for her campaign, by simply not being as cruel and ugly as Trump. The former president has a record of achievement, yes. But his petty bickering online has alienated many voters.
Not to mention the endless stream of hate that Democrats in the media have spewed at him. Hate that many Americans believe to be true.
Haley could be a good alternative to Trump. But can she beat him? Can she beat Joe Biden?
I guess we’ll find out.
