Just a few weeks ago, the Biden administration tried to push for a ban on gas stoves. A bogus “study” came out, claiming gas stoves posed some kind of health threat (despite the fact we’ve been using them for centuries). Biden’s energy secretary came out and demanded we do something.
But massive pushback forced the administration to pretend like they weren’t planning on doing… what they said they were going to do. This attempt at banning gas stoves was an obvious ploy to force Americans to buy electric stoves. All to get rid of fossil fuels, the only reliable energy source. Now, Democrats in one blue state are taking it even further–banning numerous appliances you use every day.
Two Democrat members of the Minnesota state legislature, Reps. Heather Edelson and Jerry Newton, proposed a ban on gas-powered chainsaws and lawnmowers in the North Star State on Monday.
According to Fox News, the ban would go into effect on January 1, 2025 and include “any machine that uses ‘a spark ignition engine rated at or below 19 kilowatts or 25 gross horsepower.’ Commonly used landscaping tools like lawn mowers, leaf blowers, hedge clippers, chainsaws, lawn edgers, string trimmers and brush cutters would all be prohibited by that definition.” [Source: The Post Millennial]
Yep, you read that right. Hot off the heels of Biden trying to ban your gas stove, Democrats in one state want to ban all kinds of gasoline-powered equipment. That includes lawnmowers, chainsaws, and even Zambonis.
Leftists in the state passed a law requiring electricity production to be 80% “carbon-free” by 2030. That kind of idiotic standard cannot be reached in just seven years. This is just a ploy by Democrats to reward their allies in “green” tech. Since the state will have to scramble to build wind and solar farms to meet this idiotic standard. Even then, they will face rolling blackouts and be forced to buy electricity from neighboring states (which is what other “green” states like California do all the time).
This obsession with “green” energy has become a religion to the left. It defies all common sense and reason. Green energy cannot replace fossil fuels. It only leads to blackouts and other disasters. Yet Democrats are running headlong to force their agenda. Not because it works, but because it will make their allies rich (who will, in turn, reward them).
Will Minnesota ban gas-powered tools? Probably. They will join other states to expand the government’s power to punish law-abiding Americans. They will not rest until they rob you of all your rights and abilities. You won’t even be able to mow your lawn!
But this will keep happening until enough Americans wake up and vote these crooks out of office.
