Democrats are becoming more and more leftist. And this is turning off more than conservatives. Even long-time liberals are being pushed out of the party. People who once fought for the cause are shocked and disgusted by what the “woke” left is doing, these days.
That seems to be what’s happening with well-known liberal host, Bill Maher. The HBO icon is far from becoming a conservative, but he seems to be losing faith in the increasingly socialist left. We don’t think he wants a Republican to win in 2024, but he might be starting to lean right. He even praised this one conservative figure, saying he can even do the unthinkable.
Comedian Bill Maher said… that Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis is the only candidate that can beat former President Donald Trump…
“The reason [DeSantis is] so effective is he does two things at once. He can be a real old-school Republican who just takes care of business. COVID, the hurricane, stuff like that, he just goes about his business. He doesn’t do crazy stuff. But then, when he wants to throw red meat to the base, he’s a performance artist.” [Source: Daily Wire]
Woah. We never thought we’d see Maher saying something like this? He revealed he thinks Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is the only candidate that can beat Donald Trump in the GOP primaries. All the other candidates, including Nikki Haley, will only jeopardize the race.
They might hurt DeSantis’s chances, leading to Trump winning. And it doesn’t seem as if Maher thinks Trump can win the 2024 general election. It sounds like Maher is leaning toward supporting DeSantis.
The liberal praised the governor’s successes, saying he’s “effective” at both getting things done and winning over the public. Maher might not want a Republican to win–but he certainly doesn’t want Biden back in office.
Maher has long criticized the idiotic decisions made by Democrats in recent years. Although he’s no conservative, he shares many of their views on the destructive influence of “woke” ideology. Perhaps Maher thinks DeSantis can be a good president, when considering the alternatives.
But we’re yet to hear an official announcement from DeSantis, yet. And if he does run, he will have to fight Donald Trump and his legion of rabid supporters. Maher thinks he can do it. But will DeSantis enter the ring? And will he take down both Trump and Biden?
