Not that long ago, Americans were shocked when the Biden administration announced the formation of a “Disinformation Governance Board.” This supposed board would use the power of the federal government to go after American citizens, including media outlets and users online, for spreading what they determined was “disinformation.”
This effort would be under the Department of Justice, meaning they were treating any content they didn’t like to be a kind of crime. Even liberals called this program an attack on free speech and the First Amendment. What was even more disturbing was that Biden picked a civilian, a woman known for spreading disinformation herself, as the head of this board.
Intense backlash forced the DOJ to shutter this program. But recent evidence proved the federal government was conducting censorship campaigns on social media, anyway. And now, Biden’s former censorship czar, just got some bad news.
The House Committee on the Judiciary has made “several requests” to former Disinformation Governance Board head Nina Jankowicz for “information relating to” the activities of that Board, but as yet, the information has not been forthcoming.
In the event that Jankowicz continues to avoid compliance, “The Committee is prepared to resort to compulsory process,” Jordan writes, “if necessary, to obtain your testimony and this material.
The Committee on the Judiciary is authorized to conduct oversight of matters involving civil liberties, including free speech and the First Amendment, pursuant to the Rules of the House of Representatives.” [Source: The Post Millennial]
Interesting. The House Committee on the Judiciary is calling on Biden’s former censorship czar, Nine Jankowicz for information about her time on this infamous board. The DOJ shut down this board soon after the backlash. But there is no doubt that this program was already doing something.
Recently, we learned from numerous “Twitter Files” reports that the FBI, State Department, and other federal agencies were coercing social networks to take down “disinformation” and “misinformation” for years. The federal government was engaged in numerous violations of the First Amendment–all to protect narratives that helped Democrats win elections.
So, we should just assume that this “Disinformation Governance Board” was already at work helping Joe Biden silence the free speech of millions of Americans. It’s likely Nina will refuse to comply with House Republicans. So, these lawmakers will use their power to subpoena her and whomever she worked with.
The American people deserve to know if their rights are being violated. Biden and his Democrats will stop at nothing to control what we see and say–all to protect their corrupt swamp.
Whatever the House committee finds, I can promise you, it won’t be pretty.
