Moments After Biden Pushes New Gun Control–Top Republican Gives Him the Bad News

This week, Joe Biden signed a new executive order aimed at restricting your Second Amendment rights. This order amps up background checks for gun sellers, expanding the definition of “firearms dealer” to include many more groups. He also directed his hatchet man, Merrick Garland, to get us as close to a universal background check system than ever before.

Biden is also pushing federal agencies to use their power to further restrict Americans’ rights to buy, own, and use a firearm. He is also forcing red flag laws, which allow courts to take guns away from law-abiding citizens. And, of course, he is trying to harass gun manufacturers (after rewarding arms dealers with billions to bankroll the Ukraine war). I guess he doesn’t mind giving guns away to other nations, but when Americans own guns–oh no!

But despite all these attempts at destroying the Second Amendment, Republican congressman Thomas Massie had some bad news for communist Joe.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) responded to President Biden’s Tuesday executive order on background checks by noting the president is pushing gun controls that have already failed…

Massie outlined Maryland had ballistic fingerprinting requirements for time, then dropped them because the state was spending millions on the idea but not solving any crimes…

Massie also noted Biden’s other gun controls–universal background checks, red flag laws, gun storage requirements, etc.–already exist in California, where they are failing miserably.

He said, “[California has] got a higher-than-average mass public shooting per capita and they’ve got some of the strictest gun laws.”

Massie added, “In fact, [Biden] went to Los Angeles County. Unless you’re White and well-connected, you probably can’t get a permit to carry a concealed firearm there. Fewer than 1-in-5,000 have a concealed carry permit in Los Angeles County.” [Source: Breitbart]

Yes, these measures in blue states have failed miserably, if the goal is to stop violent gun crime. But we know Democrats’ never intended to stop violent gun crime. If gun violence decreased, there’d be no need to pass more gun control. The reality is, Democrats need more gun violence, so they can use it as an excuse to push strict gun control measures that rip guns from law-abiding Americans’ hands.

These gun control measures have been fabulously successful in accomplishing their real goal: discouraging Americans from buying firearms. The liberal media, along with Democrats in government, have spread anti-gun propaganda. They have convinced Americans that guns are “evil” and uncontrollably dangerous. The only solution is to make it very hard to buy guns and to scare millions of Americans out of exercising their rights.

Gun control measures, like the ones just pushed by Biden, aren’t designed to stop gun violence. They are designed to make it very hard for Americans to get their hands on guns–and from carrying their guns for protection. These rules do nothing to stop criminals from using guns. Meanwhile, unassuming people think guns are the problem, while criminals lurk the streets unabated.
