It’s been two years and we are still suffering from his gas prices. It’s not because of bad old Putin. It’s because, back at the start of Biden’s administration, he canceled leases for oil drilling on federal land. U.S. energy companies could no longer produce oil or natural gas. That shut down our energy production, leading to skyrocketing prices.
But, why didn’t Biden reverse this decision, when prices hit all-time highs in July of last year? Well, a leaked memo revealed his Bureau of Ocean Energy Management director acknowledged that leasing land for drilling would “offer greater energy security.” Instead, she sided against that, urging Biden to rip off energy companies to help “climate change.”
Now, Republicans are fuming.
Republican leaders of two key House panels are investigating the Biden administration over its fossil fuel leasing practices in response to a leaked “energy security” memo…
“The Biden Administration has obstructed America’s energy producers in an effort to force a radical Green New Deal agenda on the American people,” Comer told Fox News Digital in a statement. “The Democrats’ ongoing war against America’s oil and gas industry has only driven energy prices higher and families across the country are paying the price.” [Source: Fox News]
Republicans are launching an investigation into Biden’s questionable energy policies. This is due to a leaked memo that revealed the Biden administration knew that leasing land for drilling would provide “energy security.” Instead, they kept drilling shut down to pushing their “radical Green New Deal agenda.”
Republicans are blasting Biden’s officials within the Department of Interior and the BOEM. It seems these political and environmental activists are really calling the shots, not the man in the Oval Office. Biden appears to be sitting back and letting these radicals push dangerous, leftist policies, instead of putting Americans’ best interests first.
These lawmakers are calling on more oversight of the DOI and its permitting review process. The Biden administration has slow-walked what leasing permits they do allow, ensuring the oil companies aren’t drilling for more resources.
Meanwhile, Americans struggle to put gas in their cars. The price of everything from food to everyday goods continues to climb, thanks to the cost of shipping. And as summer rolls around, expect energy prices to remain painfully high.
It’s pretty unbelievable that Biden would put the left’s radical climate agenda ahead of everyday Americans. But the bottom line is, Joe would rather appease radical leftists, than help Americans.
