Some people think Democrats indicted Trump to help him win the GOP primary. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Joe Biden is a failed president who is suffering from dementia. He is in big trouble in 2024. The left’s only hope is getting a weaker, unknown GOP candidate to run against him. The last thing they want is for Trump to get anywhere near the general ballot.
Which is why they launched this bogus indictment now, as the primaries begin. They were hoping Republicans would blindly believe the media’s spin on these charges and turn to DeSantis or some other candidate. They were really counting on spreading images of Trump in handcuffs, or his mugshot, across the airwaves.
Instead, they’ve already lost.
Yahoo News reports: “But, the source said, Trump will not be put in handcuffs, placed in a jail cell or subjected to a mug shot — typical procedures even for white-collar defendants until a judge has weighed in on pretrial conditions. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office, which has been consulting with the Secret Service and New York City court officials, concluded that there was no reason to subject the former president to handcuffs or a mug shot.” [Source: The Post Millennial]
Had Trump been photographed in handcuffs, Democrats would have used that in every ad in the election. They would have spread his mug shot across the Internet, slandering him as guilty until proven innocent. Remember, this is all about tarnishing Trump’s reputation with voters. They need as many people to believe the former president is a criminal, so they won’t vote for him.
But without the handcuffs or mugshots, the real point of this indictment is defeated. Maybe the left can use something from the trial to slander him, right? Even footage of Trump sitting in the courtroom will make him look bad. Perhaps they can get one of their scum bag “witnesses” to make a scene while on the stand and it will go viral?
Not so fast.
A judge presiding over Donald Trump’s arraignment in a Manhattan courthouse Tuesday afternoon has denied a request from several media outlets to allow cameras to cover live courtroom proceedings, according to court documents. [Source: Fox News]
Boom! Another major blow to the left’s plans. They wanted to use that footage to railroad Trump and his re-election campaign. Instead, the courtroom will be void of photos or live video, depriving Democrats of their ammunition.
Legal experts have already condemned this indictment. DA Alvin Bragg is twisting state law to accuse Trump of committing felonies. But no lawyer in their right mind thinks “falsifying business records” is an indictable offense. Bragg is only doing this over politics. And this case is sure to be shut down quickly.
So, Democrats have done nothing but paint Trump as a martyr for America.
