Donald Trump is the current GOP frontrunner for the 2024 presidential nomination. But there are still plenty of voters who would want someone else running for the White House. Can Trump hold onto his lead and ride it all the way to the general election? Or will somebody give him a run for his money?
So far, several Republican politicians are running for the presidency. Most of them are way down in the polls, unlikely to make a dent in Trump’s lead. But one name has been floating around for years now. Many believe Ron DeSantis can take Trump’s crown and even shut down Biden’s reign of terror. And now, the Florida governor just made a daring move.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is expected to forgo the deployment of an exploratory committee and go straight into launching his presidential campaign in June according to sources familiar with the matter…

According to a new report, Gov. DeSantis will skip an exploratory committee and launch a presidential campaign in June of this year. Trump is clearly worried about DeSantis’s plans. The former president has all but ignored current candidates and has spent millions attacking DeSantis.
But he’ll have a hard time actually convincing voters DeSantis is unfit for the job. DeSantis has a stellar track record in Florida. He has been so successful that he’s flipped the state from “swing” to red. In 2022, he won re-election by a landslide of 1 million votes.
That’s something not even Trump can boast about.
If DeSantis does announce a campaign in June, Trump will be in a very bad spot. The former president has claimed he will skip the GOP primary debates. If so, that will give DeSantis a huge advantage. He can make his case before the American public, without Trump stealing the spotlight.
DeSantis’s entrance into the race will force Trump to debate, or else be nowhere in sight as DeSantis hammers his record.
What will Trump do? We can’t predict that. But we do know that the moment DeSantis enters this race, everything will change.
