The federal government is already in the dog house for its Maui wildfire response. To date, the island has suffered terribly thanks to this disaster. Thousands of homes have been destroyed. Over 100 people are confirmed dead. And the governor revealed that over one thousand people are still missing.
The White House has seemingly done very little to help. CNN reported that few federal agents were on hand during the blaze. The Biden administration is offering only $700 to families who have lost everything. Biden took one day out of his vacation to visit the disaster-struck island. And, in usual callous fashion, spent most of the time talking about himself.
During a speech in which he was decked out with leis, Biden compared the fires of Maui, which destroyed 2,200 homes, displaced nearly 5,000 and has a rising death toll, to a small kitchen fire he once had…
“A sunny Sunday, and lightning struck at home on a little lake that’s outside of our home, not a lake a big pond. And hit a wire that came up underneath our home that hit the heating duct, an air conditioning duct. To make a long story short, I almost lost my wife, my ’67 Corvette, and my cat.” [Source: The Post Millennial]
Wow. The man looked like he was on vacation, wearing leis. Not a great look, Joe, when thousands have been hit with tragedy. But, as he often does, Biden made the situation about himself. He tried to compare the horrific wildfire–which has destroyed an entire town–to the time his kitchen caught fire.
Does anyone at the White House know what they are doing? Why did they let Biden say this? There were even musicians during this event as if this was a festive affair. Over 100 people are dead, perhaps over a thousand have died (including many children). And Biden is crying over how he almost lost his Corvette?
Maui residents were not at all impressed with Joe’s visit. And he was served this response.
Dozens gathered on the streets of Lahaina to watch Biden’s motorcade wind its way through the streets. Some greeted the president enthusiastically, but others appeared to be waving their middle fingers at the motorcade. [Source: Breitbart]

Not too many “throngs” out to see this president. And among those who did, there were plenty who gave him the one-finger salute. I guess that’s what happens when you ignore a disaster hitting your own people, go on vacation twice, and pledge pennies of support.
