At this point, only a fool would think Trump isn’t going to win the Republican nomination for president. He has long been polling way ahead of every other candidate. The latest polls have made it abundantly clear that nobody can catch him.
Despite that, the Republican National Committee continues to pretend as if these other clowns have a chance. Trump recently suggested they cancel the upcoming debates and focus their money on where it counts: defeating Joe Biden and his socialist agenda.
It does not appear that the RNC listened to Trump’s advice. And now, it looks like Americans are not on board with the party’s plans.
Ahead of the 2024 election, the Republican National Committee has dropped to a low of $9.1 million in cash on hand, the lowest in any Federal Election Commission report since February of 2015 for the committee.
According to the Washington Post, at the same point during the 2016 election, the committee had around $20 million on hand, and four years ago when Trump was in office, this number was $61 million.
As of October 30, the Democratic National Committee reported having $17.7 million on hand, around double that of the RNC. [Source: The Post Millennial]
This is bad news for the GOP and very bad news for the party’s chairwoman, Ronna McDaniel. She had previously been attacked for allegedly squandering money for her personal expenses. Now, it appears she can’t even muster enough cash to run the RNC.
Keep in mind, this is happening as Biden suffers the worst approval numbers of his career. Yet his party has double the cash of Republicans. How can that be?
For the RNC to be unable to bring in tens of millions of dollars, off the back of Biden’s failures, is just pathetic. It does not instill confidence that current GOP leadership has any idea what its doing.
Truthfully, this is most likely due to the party’s refusal to acknowledge Trump’s success. There is probably many high-ranking Republicans who don’t want Trump on the general election ballot. That is definitely opposed to millions of voters, who have already decided they want Trump back in the White House.
The party might be in bigger trouble than they realize. They claim that the RNC is making “the same efforts” to raise funds as they’ve done in the past–but the “return” is much lower. Gee, I wonder why? Maybe because they refuse to fight tooth and nail to exonerate Trump over these idiotic charges and keep pretending like DeSantis or Haley will be able to win?
