Democrats in the House have, for years, claimed Republicans are up to no good. In fact, leaders like Nancy Pelosi have spent large sums of tax dollars, to prove that Trump and others like him engaged in “insurrection.”
Self-proclaimed socialist, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has done her part by claiming Republicans benefit from “dark money.” She has often accused politicians of violating their ethics guidelines.
Recently, however, a watchdog group filed an ethics complaint against several top House Democrats, including Pelosi and AOC. They have accused these leaders of “abusing” official resources. And you’ll never guess how.

The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust filed a complaint accusing AOC, Nancy Pelosi, and other House Democrats of using official government resources to benefit them politically. Those named include other members of AOC’s squad.
The group claims these Democrats have “published numerous social media posts” to campaign accounts, using “official government resources or re-posting official government content.” While reposting content is common online, federal law prohibits politicians from using official resources for their campaigns.
FACT claims these are serious violations because it helps these Democrats elevate their campaign accounts, making them appear to be official government pages.
Federal law is very strict about officials using taxpayer-funded resources for their campaigns. Using content provided by the government for their campaign social accounts means they don’t have to use campaign funds to acquire those resources themselves.
That can be viewed as a candidate taking tax dollars and putting it into their campaign bank account. The group claimed these were not isolated incidents. They claim what Democrats are doing is “rampant and obvious.” It’s unclear what consequences these Democrats face, but it could be serious.
