Across the country, pro-Palestinian (and in many cases, pro-Hamas) protesters are occupying college campuses. In many cities, police are quickly removing encampments, and arresting agitators and students.
But the far-left movement continues, as college students support Gaza, spouting anti-Israel and antisemitic rhetoric.
At one school, protesters knocked down police barricades to get to the school’s flagpole. In one of the most egregious acts of this crisis, protesters pulled down the American flag and replaced it with the Palestinian. That’s when the school’s chancellor, flanked by an army of police, set things right.
The University of North Carolina’s interim Chancellor Lee Roberts personally restored the American flag to a flagpole in the center of the Chapel Hill campus Tuesday after protesters replaced it with the Palestinian flag, according to videos the Daily Tar Heel posted to Twitter…

The interim Chancellor of the University of North Carolina, Lee Roberts, marched to the school’s flagpole to personally restore the American flag. He was escorted by a large group of police, who compelled protesters to stand aside.
Many schools across the country have been fighting back against a growing tide of antisemitism and pro-Palestinian activism. What had previously been a movement calling for a ceasefire in Gaza has turned, in many cases, into full-blown hatred for Israel and Jewish Americans.
Jewish students have been singled out by their progressive classmates. Some of them fear even going onto campuses for classes. To the shock of many, some liberal school presidents have refused to confront protesters, as well as professors who are encouraging this behavior.
But many more have not tolerated the protests, nor the illegal activity going on—which included occupying school grounds, vandalizing buildings, and worse. At UNC, the school did not hesitate to restore the American flag, after radical protests tore it down.
Americans should wonder what is going on in the minds of these protesters when they would rather fly the Palestinian flag over the U.S. flag. It’s one thing to want Gaza to have humanitarian aid; it is another thing to fly the flag of a group that rejects the rights of women, oppresses its people, and shows hostility to Christians and Jews.
