Joe Biden received tremendous support from black voters in 2020. He even claimed that black Americans supporting Trump “ain’t black.” Despite this, it seems that Biden’s policies have done nothing to help black Americans.
He is a far cry from Barack Obama, the man he served under as vice president. While it seemed that Obama could do no wrong, black Americans have not been pleased with old Joe’s performance.
The former chief of police in Detroit recently wrote an op-ed criticizing Biden’s time in office. He did not pull any punches, pointing out the many failures of this White House. And he said Biden has done this to the black community.
On Sunday, a former chief of the Detroit Police Department said that the Biden administration’s policies are “devastating” the black community. In an op ed in the Detroit Free Press, James Craig said, “Whether it is ‘Bidenomics’ or the crisis at the southern border, the Biden Administration has proven that it will stop at nothing to continue its failed agendas, even if it means turning its back on the Black community.” [Source: The Post Millennial]
James Craig, former police chief in Detroit (and black American) blasted the Biden administration. He said that Biden’s policies are “devastating” black communities. He pointed to what we have long pointed to ourselves: Biden’s failure to protect the border, his poorly performing economic plan, as well as inflation.
Craig pointed out that Biden’s failed economy that has triggered inflation is resulting in “lower real wages” for black Americans. Hard-working families are earning less, thanks to wildly elevated prices for basic goods. Biden has not lifted a finger to fix this, which would require reversing his policies and admitting his failures.
Just as this blistering op-ed came out, Biden got more bad news from black voters. This time, in a state he has to win.
A recent Times report revealed that out of nearly two dozen residents interviewed in predominantly black neighborhoods in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, only eight were committed to voting for Biden. Many expressed intentions to either abstain from voting entirely or support former President Donald Trump in the general election. [Source: The Post Millennial]
Voters cited concerns about immigration, rising living costs, and a perception that Biden prioritizes foreign conflicts over domestic issues.
A New York Times report reveals how many black voters in Philadelphia feel about Joe Biden. Out of two dozen voters, only eight said they were going to vote for Biden. The rest will either not vote this year—or, shockingly, vote for Donald Trump.
They pointed to the very same issues as everyone else. These voters are worried about immigration, inflation, and Biden’s obsession with helping Ukraine and other nations, while seemingly ignoring Americans.
This is a worst-case scenario for a Democrat. Liberals have long claimed to be the party that helps black Americans. But Biden has managed to destroy that perception, as more and more black voters turn on him.
