The liberal elite was outraged when Elon Musk bought the social network Twitter. The free speech advocate vowed to end the platform’s censorship and allow users to speak without fear of being “shadow banned.” Since then, the network has flourished (according to Musk) despite many attempts to cancel it.
Musk has vowed to continue innovating the social network, which could impact the rest of the social media landscape. Recently, he announced that adult content will be officially allowed on X.
This upset plenty of users despite the fact that this kind of content had always been on the platform. Someone asked Musk if he could remedy many parents’ fears and concerns. Then, he revealed his “top priority.”
On Tuesday, Elon Musk announced that his team was working on figuring out how to create a “porn free mode” on X to prevent users from being inundated with sexually explicit content. He said it was a “top priority.” …
“Hey [Elon Musk] if you’re going to allow porn, would it be possible to have a function that allows us to use X without being exposed to it?” Youtuber H. Pearl Davis asked, suggesting a “porn free mode.”
Musk responded, saying, “this is a top priority.”

Users quickly thanked Elon for promising to create a filter to keep adult content from their X feeds. After being asked by a user, Musk revealed that this was a top priority for the company. While this was welcome news to users (including parents), some wanted the content completely banned from X.
Many social networks refuse to allow adult content on their platforms. But Twitter had always allowed it, refusing to ban it officially. When Musk announced it would officially be allowed, some feared X would devolve into nothing more than smut.
This new move will protect users who want to avoid seeing adult content. It could also provide parents with the ability to filter inappropriate content from reaching their children.
