The Democratic Party is embroiled in a fierce civil war between its moderate and progressive factions. For years, far-left progressives have eroded the party’s platform, alienating millions of voters. Moderates appear too weak or cowardly to stop them.
The conflict has only gotten worse in the aftermath of the terror attack in Israel. Progressives, shockingly, have sided with forces who want the Jewish nation destroyed.
These progressives haven’t been protesting conservatives to get Israel boycotted and bullied by America. Instead, they are becoming increasingly hostile against their own party—even close allies in far-left causes. And a group of liberals even disrupted a New York pride parade. What they said was outrageous.
The NYC Pride March through Greenwich Village was shut down by Gaza protesters on Sunday afternoon. The protesters blocked the street and prevented LGBTQ revelers from continuing on their march to celebrate their LGBTQ rights. They covered floats in red paint.
The banners read “No queer liberation without Palestinian liberation” and “Palestine will be free.” The confusing message has been seen at many Pride events since October 7, 2023, when Hamas massacred 1,200 Israelis and kidnapped over 200 people. In what has become a bizarre but common occurrence, liberal protesters blocked the famed NYC pride parade—to stand with Palestine. These “queers for Palestine” disrupted an event celebrating their own friends and allies, all to demand “justice” for Gaza and Hamas.
Most outside observers have commented on the lunacy of American gays and lesbians fighting for a hard Muslim region. The Palestinians they are “fighting” for would want nothing to do with non-Muslim, openly gay Americans. Yet these progressives are turning on their own movement to defend strangers they don’t even know.
The pro-Palestinian movement in America is becoming stranger and stranger. Liberals have attacked Democrats over policies meant to help the Jewish nation. Radical Muslim activists have reportedly coached college students to chant antisemitic slogans. College campuses have become too hostile for Jewish students to attend classes.
But this hostility toward the LGBT community is the most bizarre thing we’ve seen in a while. Progressives have become so deranged in their fight for antisemitic Muslims that they’d pester fellow gay Americans. We can’t even begin to understand what they are thinking. But we do know they are only hurting their cause.
