Two other attendees were also injured in the chaos. The incident sent shockwaves through the nation, but since the event, we’ve heard very little from law enforcement.
From local police to the Secret Service to the FBI, we’ve heard nothing. Congress railed against the Secret Service’s shocking failures in the days that followed. But since there, where are the answers? We know little about why Crooks did what he did. We know even less about how the police could fail to stop him from taking those shots. But the American public aren’t the only people outraged at the silence. Now, former First Lady Melania Trump is breaking her silence, calling out federal law enforcement.

Former First Lady Melania Trump recently broke that silence. In a video released on Tuesday, she condemned law enforcement for failing to arrest the shooter before the rally. “The attempt to end my husband’s life was a horrible, distressing experience,” Melania said. “Why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech? There’s definitely more to this story.” Her message was as sharp as it was chilling, ending with a plug for her upcoming memoir, Melania, which promises to reveal untold stories from her extraordinary life.
In the wake of the assassination attempt, questions have emerged about the competence of the Secret Service. Multiple agents were placed on leave, and Kimberley Cheatle, the head of the Secret Service, resigned under pressure. Whistleblowers have since come forward with disturbing details. It appears that Secret Service agents in charge of Trump’s security were told not to request additional resources for the event, despite significant safety concerns.
The incompetence didn’t end there. Reports indicate that the lead Secret Service agent in charge of the rally lacked the experience to handle the situation. This agent was reportedly responsible for managing line-of-sight concerns, a critical factor in Trump’s security. Crooks managed to climb to the rooftop of a nearby building, where he had a clear shot at Trump as he began speaking. It’s the kind of failure that raises serious questions about who was really in control.
And here’s where it gets even spicier. Rep. Clay Higgins attempted to view Crooks’ body after the shooter was fatally shot by a Secret Service Counter Sniper. But, in a bizarre twist, Crooks’ body was cremated just 10 days after the assassination attempt. No explanations, no further investigation. Just gone. If that doesn’t raise red flags, I don’t know what does.
The aftermath of this shooting is far from over. Melania’s video is likely just the start of what’s to come.
