Canadians Give Their Opinion of Trump–Leave Their Prime Minister Speechless

Canadians Give Their Opinion of Trump–Leave Their Prime Minister Speechless

Donald Trump’s influence stretches far beyond American borders. While liberal pundits love to declare that the world despises him, reality keeps proving them wrong. World leaders don’t just respect Trump—they often fear him.

And for good reason. Trump has a knack for calling out their hypocrisies, making bold demands, and delivering on his promises. Allies may not always agree with his methods, but they can’t deny his results. Whether it’s trade deals or military alliances, Trump plays hardball, and the world takes notice.

But what about ordinary citizens? That’s where things get even more interesting. Despite the relentless narrative that Trump is universally loathed, reality often tells a different story.

A recent poll from Canada—yes, Canada, land of maple syrup and politeness—has revealed a shocking twist.

A new poll from Abacus Data shows that Canadians are more likely to think America is heading in the “right direction” than Canada. The same poll shows that Donald Trump has a higher approval rating among Canadians than Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. [Source: The Post Millennial

The poll, conducted by Abacus Data, shows a fascinating shift in Canadian attitudes. Only 24% of Canadians approve of Trudeau’s job performance. Compare that to Trump, who has a 26% approval rating in Canada.

That’s right—Canadians would rather give the thumbs-up to the unapologetic American president-elect than their own leader. And it gets juicier. Canadians are also more likely to believe that America is headed in the “right direction” than their own country. Ouch, Trudeau.

The numbers show a country disillusioned with its leadership. Only 22% of Canadians think their nation is on the right track, while 23% think the U.S. is doing better under Trump’s leadership.

Sure, these are small percentages, but the symbolic slap to Trudeau’s ego is enormous. For a leader who built his brand on charm and globalist ideals, losing out to Trump in the court of public opinion has got to sting.

So, why the love for Trump? It could be his tough stance on trade, which many Canadians respect even if they don’t admit it publicly. Or maybe it’s his boldness. Canadians might not love everything Trump says, but they can’t deny he gets things done.

Trudeau, on the other hand, has been bogged down by scandals, policy missteps, and what many see as a lack of decisive leadership.

Interestingly, the poll also shows that Canadian conservatives are split on Trump. About half of those who have a positive view of Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre also approve of Trump.

This suggests that while Trump’s style might be polarizing, his substance resonates with many who value strong leadership.

The real story here isn’t just about Trump’s numbers. It’s about Canada’s sinking faith in its own leadership. The Liberals, under Trudeau, trail the Conservatives by over 20 points. Canadians are disillusioned, frustrated, and, frankly, unimpressed.

Abacus Data notes that the national mood is the worst it’s ever been. If Canadians think the U.S. is doing better, it’s not because they’ve suddenly fallen in love with American politics—it’s because they’re losing hope in their own.

And who can blame them? Trudeau’s tenure has been marked by grand promises but questionable follow-through.

Meanwhile, Trump, love him or hate him, delivers. Canadians might not want a Trump of their own, but they’re starting to see the appeal of a leader who fights for his country without apologizing for it.

The Abacus poll surveyed 2,720 Canadian adults, with a margin of error of +/- 1.9%. That’s a solid sample size, and the results are hard to ignore.

For a “socialist” leaning country like Canada, this poll is a wake-up call. It’s not just about Trump vs. Trudeau. It’s about what people value in leadership: strength, decisiveness, and results.

While liberals in both countries like to paint Trump as a global villain, the reality is more nuanced. World leaders respect him.

Citizens, even in unexpected places, are warming to him. And as this poll shows, sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction.
