The impeachment of a President of the Unites States is no small matter. According to the Constitution, the only grounds for impeaching are “bribery” and “high crimes and misdemeanors.” But Democrats weaponized the process in two failed attempts to remove Donald Trump from office. They made a mockery of our Constitution and government over petty politics.
But impeachment remains a valid measure by which Congress can check a crooked administration.
In a matter of months, a red wave could cause major changes to our federal government. Many signs point to Republicans retaking the House and perhaps the Senate. Discontentment with Joe Biden is driving Americans to send a powerful message to the corrupt elite of Washington. That would give the GOP major opportunity. And a growing number of them want to use that chance to hold Biden accountable.
Rep. Lance Gooden, a Texas Republican whose district has been overrun by the surge in illegal immigration, says the border insecurity that Joe Biden unleashed isn’t just impacting border states. It’s spreading to the interior of the country, and with it the temptation to impeach the president if Republicans gain control of Congress next year…
When Sen. Ted Cruz first suggested a Biden impeachment was possible a month ago, he was panned by the media, and Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell said it would not happen.
But since then, a growing chorus of Republicans are arguing for it, and even leaders like Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York, the No. 3 Republican in the House, have been forced to acknowledge the rising voices. [Source: Just the News]
Leaders outside of Texas might scoff, but the crisis at the border is not going away. Border towns are overrun with illegal aliens, many of whom are dangerous criminals. And for over a year, Biden has been bussing many of these illegals to communities all over the country. Democrats won’t rest until they use this flood of aliens to reshape voting demographics wherever they can. The fallout, of course, would be devastated communities, a loss of jobs, and worse.
Biden is flagrantly ignoring our immigration laws. He even seems to be defying the Supreme Court, who order that “Remain in Mexico” be reinstated. Despite that, illegals continue to flood our country with no end in sight. That, some Republicans say, is enough for impeachment.
If Republicans get a simple majority in the House—that is going to happen. Removing Biden from office is a much harder thing because it would require a 60-vote count in the Senate (Republicans could win the majority, but not a super-majority like that). But an impeachment process in the House is more than enough to check Biden.
The House can hire an independent investigator to lead an impeachment probe (something Democrats did not do either time they impeached Trump). This person can be authorized to investigate the administration and uncover evidence exposing Biden’s failures. House Republicans can use this opportunity to investigate Biden’s policies on the border, Afghanistan, and beyond.
This is what we need: hard evidence that will seal Biden and the left’s fate. The American people deserve to know what’s going on. Even if Biden’s not removed from office, his tyranny will come to an end.
