With the unprecedented attack against Israel by Iran, it has become clear that the conflict in the Middle East won’t go away soon. Despite the White House’s attempts at deescalating conflict in Gaza, Israel’s enemies are not going away.
Israel’s stubborn insistence that its people should not be murdered by terrorists continues to outrage far-left progressives in America. Many of them are siding with anti-Israel groups which are calling for the death of Jewish people.
To the shock of many Americans, an “occupation” is taking place on a major university campus. Anti-Semitic protestors have been protesting, openly supporting the group that perpetrated the October 7th attack. And now, even the Democrat mayor of the city is fighting back.
“I am horrified and disgusted with the antisemitism being spewed at and around the Columbia University campus,” Adams said, citing the example of a young woman holding a sign with an arrow pointing to Jewish students stating “Al-Qasam’s Next Targets.”…
As I have repeatedly said, hate has no place in our city, and I have instructed the NYPD to investigate any violation of law that is reported. Rest assured, the NYPD will not hesitate to arrest anyone who is found to be breaking the law,” Adams continued. “We will not be a city of lawlessness, and those professional agitators seeking to seize the ongoing conflict in the Middle East to sow chaos and division in our city will not succeed.” [Source: Fox News]
In what could be a positive sign for New York City, Mayor Eric Adams condemned the anti-Semitic protests going on at and around Columbia University. The school’s president recently came under fire for not condemning the protest, even as the anti-Semitic nature of the event was widely known.
It seems anti-Israel protestors are throwing off any semblance of not being associated with Hamas. They are now openly embracing the hateful views of the group that murdered 1,200 Israeli civilians, holding many hostages to this day.
Some at the Columbia protest yelled, “We are Hamas.” Others had signs pointing to Jewish students, calling them “targets.” Jewish leaders have even warned Jewish students to not go on campus, fearing for their safety.
For a time, Democrats including White House officials, tolerated far-left progressives’ protests of Israel. But now, they are becoming increasingly hostile to those who are siding with terrorists. Mayor Adams claimed that the city is not “lawless.” His administration has instructed the NYPD to arrest “anyone who is found to be breaking the law.” Adams accused the agitators of sowing “chaos and division” in the city.
This could be a sign that Democrats will begin to shut down the far-left’s toxic influence within its party. Perhaps the mayor will take further steps to end the widespread crime epidemic in the city.
