All signs point to a big November for the Republican Party. Joe Biden’s approval continues to sink lower than anyone expected. Voters from all corners are blaming Democrats for the struggling economy. And many Democrats are abandoning ship, retiring after this year. Meanwhile, Republicans are making inroads as they plan to flip the House and regain the Senate.
Should Republicans retake Congress, Biden is done for. He becomes a lame duck before the end of his first term. But the stakes are much higher than that. Numerous local and state elections will be held that can decide the fate of many communities—and the future of Congress.
So, Republicans are determined to retake at least four of them.
The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) is hopeful of flipping four Democrat-controlled state legislatures in the upcoming midterm elections.
The RSLC upgraded Nevada, Maine, Oregon, and Washington as “opportunities to flip” on its legislative target list on Wednesday.
The RSLC’s decision comes after polling found that Republicans are either leading or within the margin of error on the state legislative generic ballot in those four states.
For example, Republicans have a two-point advantage in Nevada’s state legislative generic ballot, with 48 percent compared to the Democrat’s 46 percent. In Maine, Republicans trail Democrats by just one point on the state legislative generic ballot. [Source: Breitbart]
Republicans are hopeful that they can flip four state legislatures in the upcoming midterms. But the states might surprise you. Signs point they can gain a majority in Nevada—perhaps not so shocking.
But the other states they seem to have an advantage in (or good odds) include East Coast Maine, crunchy Oregon, and even crunchier Washington.
These coastal states, with densely populated cities, are reliably blue. But according to new polling, more voters seem dissatisfied with how the left has been calling the shots.
State Democrats sat by as governors locked down their communities for years. They refused to revoke emergency powers, even when they were no longer needed. In many cases, Democrats imposed onto Americans rules they would not follow themselves.
For voters in places like Oregon and Washington to consider a change, you know Americans are upset. They are watching as Democrats ignore the obvious failings of Joe Biden. They are struggling as the left endorses policies that have shut down our energy and triggered inflation. And it’s possible blue-collar, hard-working Americans in these states are willing to give Republicans a chance to right the ship.
If Republicans retake state legislatures, Democrats will be in big trouble. State governments pass laws that affect congressional districts. They can even pass election integrity bills that will shut down the left’s schemes in 2024. Big changes could be coming, all across the map.
