Ted Cruz Outmaneuvers Biden And China To Protect Americans

On Wednesday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) introduced a bill that would prohibit the U.S. from selling oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran because President Biden has reduced it to its lowest level in decades, according to Breitbart News.

The No Emergency Oil for Foreign Adversaries Act, introduced by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), would prevent the U.S. from selling to hostile nations. It allows for a national security exemption and requires the Dept. of Energy to provide information on recent SPR auctions’ oil destinations.

In a statement to Breitbart News, the Texas conservative declared that America should not reduce its Strategic Petroleum Reserve in order to benefit China.

“At a time when inflation is soaring and gas costs are setting records, and with SPR reserves at their lowest level in 30 years, it makes no sense that President Biden would allow oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to be sold to China,” Cruz charged. “This practice endangers national security by itself, not least of all because the CCP is presently stockpiling oil for strategic purposes and the White House is assisting them in doing so.”

“Joe Biden should not be selling American oil to our rivals,” Blackburn stated. “Instead of making deals to support the CCP, Joe Biden should put America first. It is time for him to stop doing everything he can to harm our nation and instead start a campaign to achieve energy independence as quickly as possible.”

“While President Biden was shutting down American energy production and then selling our strategic oil reserves to China, he claimed to be concerned about the high gas prices that Americans were paying. This should have never been allowed to happen. Congress must pass legislation preventing it from happening again,” Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) said on Monday.

“America’s strategic petroleum reserve ensures our country’s security in times of national distress. Selling off American oil to countries that despise us jeopardizes the oil reserve’s purpose of providing protection, and we can’t allow it to happen again,” Kennedy added.

“While Oklahomans are forced to have to pay more for gas and diesel under this Administration’s poor policies, Biden continues to impede energy production in the United States. Now he’s outrageously marketing our Strategic Petroleum Reserve’s emergency oil supply to nations like China. This is completely wrong. We should assist American families in paying for gasoline and groceries by increasing domestic output rather than giving away our emergency reserves to rogue countries,” said Lankford.
