Last weekend, a man stormed the stage of a campaign event and tried to assault GOP candidate for New York Governor, Lee Zeldin. Because of Zeldin’s quick thinking, and the swift actions of those around him, the man was not able to hurt him. Video and photos clearly show the assailant armed with a deadly weapon, a hand-held device designed to stab and puncture vital organs.
While Zeldin was not harmed, he predicted that New York’s crooked criminal justice system would let the man out. And it did. Democrats have passed idiotic laws that eliminated cash bail and put criminals back on the streets—even someone who tried to assassinate a sitting congressman.
But the good news is, where New York failed, the federal government stepped up.
The man who was released without bail after allegedly attacking New York Republican gubernatorial candidate Rep. Lee Zeldin was re-arrested on a federal assault charge on Saturday, authorities stated…
He now faces a federal charge of using a dangerous weapon to assault a member of Congress, which carries up to 10 years in prison, The Associated Press reported.
Prosecutors argued that Jakubonis is dangerous and a flight risk, the court filing stated. He is being held until a bail hearing on Wednesday. [Source: Just the News]
New York prosecutors charged the man with “attempted second-degree assault.” Not good enough. Zeldin is a congressman and the man clearly held a dangerous weapon to his throat. While he should have been charged with attempted murder at least federal prosecutors upped the charge to “using a dangerous weapon to assault a member of Congress.”
These kinds of crimes need to be punished properly. Why? Because if this man gets off, as New York was trying to do, many more unhinged people will copycat.
Thanks to the irresponsible liberal media, which paints conservatives as “Nazis,” “bigots,” and “far right,” unhealthy people have been provoked to take actions into their own hands. Impressionable people have been inspired by the media to attack GOP congressmen during a baseball game. One man even recently tried to break into Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s home to kill him and his family.
Do you think that’s okay? Democrats have done nothing to stop this trend of violence toward conservatives. That’s because it benefits them. If conservatives fear that CNN or another outlet will “doxx” them, putting them in harm’s way, then maybe they’ll be less likely to stand up for what they believe.
Democrats bank on this kind of violence to further their cause, in this day and age. And New York was ready to let this man go free, so he could attack Zeldin or someone else again.
These federal charges send a message to anyone sick enough to hurt a lawmaker. If you try, you will face justice.
Something Democrats apparently no longer care about.
