Despite all common sense and sound logic, the radical Marxist movement known as “Black Lives Matter” is still around. This group (bankrolled by Democrats like George Soros) pops up every now and again to burn down an American city just before an election.
The liberal media gave this destructive group a platform, eager to paint them as a modern-day civil rights movement. But many Americans pointed out that this group, who literally talks about black lives, has done nothing to stop the real threat to black Americans–violence from black criminals.
But this group has been successful at one thing: making its leaders filthy rich. And one branch of the movement is now suing a top leader for making off with $10 million.
A group of activists formerly associated with Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation (BLMGNF) sued the organization in a California court Friday, alleging that its leader siphoned off funds raised by the non-profit for personal expenses.
The group, named the Black Lives Matter Grassroots, alleges in its lawsuit that Shalomyah Bowers, the current head of BLMGNF, is a “rogue administrator” and “usurper” who siphoned “more than $10 million” from the organization for his “personal piggy bank.” It also accused him of breaching his fiduciary duty as an organization officer. Ouch. This isn’t going to look good in the headlines. Shalomyah Bowers currently heads the “global network” that partners with local BLM chapters. One chapter based out of California accused Bowers of using their fundraising efforts to fill his bank account.
Apparently, Bowers is BLMGN’s sole voting member and had the power to award grants to his own for-profit consulting firm (of which he’s also the sole member). And that allowed him to funnel funds into his own pocket.
This isn’t even the first time a Black Lives Matter leader made off with millions. Patrisse Cullors, one of the original founders of BLM, was kicked out after taking cash and running. IN fact, eight states have revoked Black Lives Matter’s charitable status, over how often it’s leaders cash in–while doing nothing for black communities.
It’s pretty ironic that a group whose leaders have called themselves “trained Marxists” are so eager to make off with other people’s money. Aren’t Marxists all about “redistributing wealth” to those in need? I guess these Marxists are interested in redistributing poor black people’s donations… into their own pockets.
Truth be told, that’s not far off the mark for most Marxist/socialists. These “leaders” talk big about helping the little guys and holding those in power accountable. But every socialist, from Bernie Sanders to AOC to Black Lives Matter leaders is in it for themselves. They are just as greedy and corrupt as those capitalists they hate so much.
The only difference? Capitalists are actually offering goods and services in exchange for getting rich. Black Lives Matter? They are robbing people right before their eyes.
