Elon Musk Moves to Shut Down Woke Apple–His Latest Plan Could Leave App Store Penniless

Ever since Elon Musk took over Twitter, the radical left has been put on suicide watch. Democrats’ favorite social network–which they used to censor free speech–was bought by a man vowing to protect the First Amendment. Liberals have been melting down ever since, especially recently, when Musk called out Apple.

It’s no secret that Apple is one of the “wokest” companies in America. They embrace far-left ideas, pushing them onto users through their App Store. The company uses its considerable wealth and influence to boost Democrat candidates (while enjoying sweatshop labor overseas).

But it looks like Musk is moving to make sure Twitter is no longer lining Apple’s pockets.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk is reportedly set to change the price that the company charges users for its Twitter Blue subscription in an apparent attempt to offset a substantial cut that Apple takes if users sign up using Apple’s App Store.

The Information reported that Twitter will drop the $8 per month fee to $7 if users pay for it through the web and will increase the fee to $11 per month if users buy it through their iPhones.

The report said that the price change was likely to offset “the 30% cut that Apple takes on revenues from apps for iOS.” [Source: Daily Wire]

This is an interesting new chapter in Twitter’s redemption story. New owner Elon Musk has talked about offering an $8/month subscription service for users who want premium services. This is a valuable offering for folks who want to use Twitter for their businesses, etc. But when you pay for something through an app on your iPhone, Apple takes a steep 30% cut.

Meaning, Twitter only gets $5 from your $8 subscription. Musk’s solution? Offering a cheaper price for those who pay outside the app, meaning through a web browser. People who use Twitter’s subscription service that way only has to pay $7. Those who still want to pay through the app? They get to pay $11.

You can see where this is going. Nobody will pay more money. So, they will pay through a web browser (while still being able to use the app normally). More and more users who use Twitter Blue will want to save a few bucks a month, which will deprive Apple of this revenue.

Sound like an ugly move? Apple has a monopoly on app purchases. If a company wants its product on the iPhone, they have to jump through Apple’s hoops. And what has Apple been doing with all this cash? Propping up woke ideology and allowing conservatives to be censored online.

Musk’s new idea could catch on, inspiring other companies to offer alternatives to in-app purchases. This could put a serious dent in Apple’s bottom line.

Maybe they’ll wake up and stop pushing politics through their products?
